Lexar CT25664BA1339 Crucial 2GB DIMM DDR3 1333MHz Desktop Memory $2 @ The Good Guys

1140

I was looking to increase my desktop memory and found this deal, similar modules are around $34. Not sure how many they have in stock, ordered few extra ;). Pickup is available in some stores or delivery around $9.

Update 5:30PM: "This product is not available for sale online. It may still be available in store but some products are not available in all stores."

Update: got an email "Good news! Your order is on the way", 79% of sticks ordered are on the way, the rest Backordered

Looks like it is out of stock, there are other memory modules available but not as cheap. Good luck to all who ordered.

Got another email and a call that my last 3 modules are on the way

        • Well then they must have taken the mobile site server down. I wonder if it was deliberate as in a panick server shutdown. Maybe this RAM was never meant to be available for purchase online and also pricing error.

        • Either way this is playing out exactly the same as the infamous games sale. Overselling & no stock to allocate.

          Gimme gimme $40 voucher!

  • Seems like 4GB DDR3 modules are also on sale @ $26…MSY has them @ $46

    What's funny is that in 2012 I purchased 2 x 8GB Kingston Hyper X kits…total of 16GB…for about $88 delivered from Amazon.

DDR3 Sodimm modules also on sale.

Damnit man! I was happy with my sticks of 2GB, now I've got another 24Gb ordered :(

Muney…. why do you leave me? why can't we be together forever?

      • +6

        Its the memories that count.

  • Site was updated and now says "Limit 1 per customer". I wonder if they will honor existing sales.

    • This product is not available for sale online. It may still be available in store but some products are not available in all stores.

      still saying not available

    • Yah… I just noticed that also. Bit unfair on their part to change it after the fact.

  • How many trackers are TheGoodGuys using?!? Ghostery has now counted 24 trackers the website is trying to access! Slow as hell too.

  • My suggestion is that if you really need this go in store at 9am before they have the chance to pick them of the shelves for the click and collect orders. Same thing was possible with the gaming sale for those that got in store early.

  • Page don't work anymore. Deal expired?

  • i got 10 of these week delivered with no dramas.

  • Thanks again meanozbgnr, good find.
Got myself the last 2 sticks in Newcastle.
Time to upgrade the ol Ubuntu Server to a Steam box :)

  • Stupid question: how on earth do I get to the RAM category on their website? I see computers and accessories, but memory is no where to be found?!

    • use search?

      • I think they've removed all the DDR3 listings…

  • got another email 10 mins ago that my last 3 modules are on the way. 11 coming from QLD 3 from VIC

    • +1

Grr, I haven't even received the second email!

  • My second order has been dispatched (in 2 parts from all over the place). My first order of only 2Gb sticks has not yet been dispatched :(

  • +3

Got an email from Paypal that money was refunded from TGG. Sh$t, waste of time.

    • +1

I just got a refund too. How frustrating, it's like a lottery.

      • +3

Except you get your money back.

  • +2

Grrr, got a refund unfortunately. I purchased about 30 mins after the OP posted the deal with Express PayPal, i'm guessing if I signed up for an Account at The Good Guys it may have gone through.

  • The Good Guys has just sent you a refund
    27 Feb 2014 11:59:55 AEDT
    Dear Dan
The Good Guys has just sent you a full refund of $15.00 AUD for your purchase.

    so much for that dream

  • Mine was refunded too. They will probably process orders that they have stock for, and cancel the rest. Good for the lucky few.

  • You would think they would send out an official email addressing the issue before sending out the paypal refund email…seems a little rude.

    • +1

actually im pretty happy with a next day refund…. unlike some hardly normal refunds that took weeks/months. will be nice if they do also do an email but i assume that will take osme time if ever.

      • +1

unlike some hardly normal refunds that took weeks/months

DSE & Hardly Normal: in the same boat.

It was a nightmare trying to get a refund!

      • Yeah the refund is being processed timely, however you would have thought they would have been considerate enough to issue an apology - as the paypal refund doesn't mention why it is cancelled only if you have any queries to contact TGG.

        • Be happy the refunded you immediately, because as stated above, DSE and HN refunds can take WEEKS and you still don't get an apology or even an email to tell you your order was cancelled. TGG may have already sent an email detailing the refund, which is queued up in a mail system and will arrive later on.

I can understand your frustration though, as it is annoying when you order a bunch of parts from different suppliers and wait weeks for a particular part to set up your system, only to find that one of the orders was cancelled without your knowledge within hours or days of the original order. You may have the money back in your account, but if you didn't receive an email telling you the order was cancelled, you may be sitting there waiting for it arrive when you could have ordered if from somewhere else in the meantime.

  • @everyone that got a refund

Did you guys buy on the mobile site? I bought a few [4x] on the desktop site & still haven't been refunded…

    • mine was mobile site

    • Bought four from the mobile site which as been refunded. I bought another four from the desktop site which still hasn't.

    • +1

      Refunded from desktop site. Booooo.

    • Sorry, meant to upvote you - I was refunded ("mobile" purchase) and got the $20 voucher

  • So far 2 of my 4 sticks are on the way. I think I bought inside 10min of OP.

  • Just received a refund in Paypal. No other email or anything…

  • Same just received refund

  • just got refund (bought on mobile site)

  • i just got a refund email from paypal. i got in early

  • +1

I ordered 4x 4GB (via mobile site early this morn) and two were shipped quickly from one store while the other two are on backorder from another store.

I would have preferred all or nothing but there is still hope that the other two will come rather than me ending up with a partial refund.

    • Got a call from the second store saying they were on backorder and someone would call later when they came in stock…. Not a refund so I'm still hopeful.

  • I ordered 16GB (8x 2GB). I got refund with no additional information :(

  • Refund for me as well. Boo!

  • Refunded :(

  • Refund. Oh well…

  • My order has been cancelled. :(

    Dear Mr. Fancy Pants

    Re: Web Order 0118 999 881 999 119 725….3

Yesterday we received a web order from you that included 10 units of Crucial 2GB DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz Desktop Memory.

Unfortunately there is no individual store in The Good Guys group with the quantity of stock required to fulfil your order. As such we have cancelled your entire order and refunded your money via the same method you used online including the delivery charge. It may take 2-3 business days for the refund to appear on your bank statement.

We apologise that we have not been able to fulfil your order, and for this inconvenience we have included a $20 store credit that you can use on any purchase in-store before 19 March 2014.

We hope you will consider shopping with us again soon.

    Yours sincerely,
    The Good Guys

I gave them $27 they gave me it back + 20$ store credit, I'm happy with that :D

    • got the same

bet no ones complaining now about not already receiving the letter :)

  • refund and $20 voucher

  • I just got the voucher as well! Thumbs up!

  • Got an order cancelling email from TGG with $20 voucher to use until 19/03.

  • Got the voucher too, awesome :D. I was planning to buy a Motorola Moto G anyway!

  • Can't complain after them giving me $20 store credit. :)

  • +1

Thank the lord for that. I had no idea what I was going to use 2GB modules for, and was only in it for voucher. :)

  • +1

Aha! I knew it. Another voucher on top of the $40 from last time.
Expiry is 2.5wks for the $20 instead of 1yr for the $40 one.

  • -1

Check the local stores for the 4gb sticks. Just went to my local and grabbed 6!!

    • +1

Nice, pity they pulled them from sale online would have gone nicely with the $20 voucher I received.

      • -2

Just went to another local and got 3 more

        • +2

^ This guy is killing us…

        • -1

          Well I am Broden.

  • +1

so now the next question is….. what is everyone going to buy with there $20? suggestions anyone?

  • I went in today and showed the salesperson my order confirmation from last night that said I'd ordered 4. Shed checked stock and found 1 in stock at store and honoured the email that said $2 as it was still in the system for $2.

Might be worth a look tomorrow if anyone is near any stores, just don't tell them about being refunded ;-).

Any chance they'll restock with a normal price? Would like to buy another stick of RAM to match the 2GB with the $20 voucher.

  • bought some as soon as the deal came up yesterday so i was sure i'd get them. but i just received a refund email. :(

nothing about a voucher, just a paypal email for the refunded amount…

    • Voucher will come later. Give it a few hours or so. Or maybe even tomorrow.

      • oooh s'all good. somehow made it's way to mah spam folder :) yay! free twenty bucks.

  • +4

I knew this would happen from last time, so I put through 5 orders at 5 x 2 gig sticks and they all got cancelled but I now have $100 store credit to use :) winning

    • No matter how many you have ordered, you'll get 20$ store credit.

      • +1

        This.

I made two orders from different emails, same IP and got voucher for the first order and cancellation email for the second.

  • -1

Is it a marketing disaster for The Good Guys?

Many customers couldn't get what they want but a voucher instead.

I attempted to order 100 of them, but when I was in the last step checking out (after paypal), TGG mobile website goes "down".

    • +1

it said clearance… they gave you $20 voucher which is more than what dicksmith does

    • how modest of you ;)

  • My RAM's been sent. Main system has two empty sockets waiting for it - nice little 8GB > 12GB upgrade for pennies. Nice catch, meanozbgnr.

For reference, my order was placed about 10 mins after the deal was posted.

  • Well I picked up 2 yesterday near work after being told my local store did not have them on system.
Checked today in store and had 6 on the floor… His system says $45… so he says expired…. No longer clearance??????

    • $45 for the 2gb? I paid $26 each for the 4gb yesterday =)

  • Forgot to ask if price match…. Or if I bought it and then showed receipt with $2 a stick do they have to give me 120% back and match as less than 30 days?

  • Has anyone received theirs yet? I got an email from TGG advising of dispatch 6 days ago and then last night Auspost emailed a tracking number…

I don't know if this second email with tracking details is the back-ordered sticks or the ones that allegedly shipped last week from a store 5kms away.

    • +1

      I made 2 orders:

      • the one containing 2gb sticks was cancelled
      • the one containing 4gb x6 sticks has had only 3 dispatched. Arrived 2 business days after. The remaining 3 are on back order, they better not cancel it >:(

Edit: I think they have all been dispatched. The ones from Bayswater have arrived, the ones from Wagga Wagga are on their way

      • I wouldn't be a hurry

25% of my 2gb sticks were faulty - the PC wouldn't even post with them inserted
50% of the 4gb sticks are faulty - the PCs have had frequent bluescreens and memcheck is reporting errors through the roof

        • Well so far 100% of mine are ok (crosses fingers for the rest). Sure it's not just some unforeseeable incompatibility with the PC?

        • +1

          Tried 3 different rigs

        • That is very unfortunate then :(

  • I received one stick of 2gb today, working fine. Still waiting on second stick.
    Cheers op

  • Help a fellow Ozbargainer out!

Anyone living in Canberra/Queanbeyan region who got an extra 2 GB stick from this deal, can you please give me that? I'll honor your asking price.

I ordered two, but got one. Left with only one, I need to pair up my sticks.

    • +1

Can post one from Sydney if you don't have any other takers.
