It's because Tiger has not actually started their operation, I think they will start in a few weeks but there IS a chance that they will not get regulatory approval. It's put there for legal purposes and I don't think they are gonna not get approval.
Why wouldn't they get regulatory approval? What you are saying is silly.

I can only find $59.95 to and $89.95 from Gold Coast. It seems to be trend that airline companies advertise cheap fares but when you actually buying it, those cheap fares are no where to be found.
Although I did get some tickets from Melbourne to Sydney returned for $10 ($3 + $2 taxes one-way) from Jetstar.

oops sorry I didn't make it clear. I got those tickets a while back from Jetstar's 3rd birthday sale.
I only mentioned it to show that while difficult, it is possibly to get a good deal from the price war between airline companies.

Jetstar is offering totally different dates than Tiger. Interesting to see that Virgin Blue has been VERY quiet during all these specials. They used to match or beat Jetstar within 12 hours in the ol days.
So much for being on Tiger's email list….. I never got notified about the "Celebratory Fares" by them (only by Ozbargain), and now they are all GONE before I could boon any! Grrrrr….
