Native 320240 Pixels support 640480 pixels

its painful to even read that, let alone consider buying it

Yeah. HDMI input on SD resolution sounds wrong to me.

they are for $30 - $40 delivered on ebay…. and not the output which seems promising in the description…

    • I've seen it for about $75 imported from China. The delivery time for the OP's product is 4-6 weeks as well, so I'd imagine it's from the same source.

negged? lol. obviously people didnt see the previous revisions of this "deal"

      have a +1

We thought they were value at $119 sorry we wasted your time we will be back with a better deal shortly.

  • +4

Deal should stand so that this has a chance to take effect.

Allowing the rep to do what they have done lets them circumvent this process and if it's allowed, then what's the point of having it?

    • The post has been reverted. They haven't been allowed to remove the post for the reason you mention.

Foobar its only our second ever listing and its been a steep learning curve, We are trying our best to keep everyone happy and will be back with an outstanding deal in the near future.

Thank you for your honesty and ability to admit you made a mistake.
Please be deadly sure you check and recheck that there isn't a cheaper option. It may be in your best interests to use a loss leader next time if you can, and if your servers can sustain the load.

Aliexpress pricing is not RRP. Aliexpress is a wholesale site with wholesale pricing. Some sellers make single products available but you still can't consider it to be RRP by any stretch of the imagination.

      • DX isn't wholesale pricing (though they can do that)

my point is that this retailer directly imports cheap stuff from HK/China and makes up fictious RRPs for them so that they can advertise bogus savings

That's fine but I didn't see one in this, unless it was edited out by the time I got to it.

Near in mind though that a long standing rule of retail is that the product wholesale price is only a third or less of the skiing price.

This had changed a lot of course but i think there's a huge misconception what gross retail margins actually are.

If you saw the actual margins the clothing industry (for example) to this day you would be shocked.

People on here seem to think that making 10-20% is sustainable, although the impression is that even that is barely tolerable. Yet they expect full service customer support and long warranties.

Sometimes people inflate the rrp on here for sure but just because done over quoted, many assume here that all are.

So, sure, this may have not been a good deal but just because it's not a price to standards ozbargain no reason to imply that the seller is attempting a rip off. It could just be that he's not great at sourcing good pricing.

Many on here immediately assume nefarious purposes when other explanations are just as, if not more, likely.

What evidence do you have that THEY made it up, not the people that supplied them?
It is one hell of an accusation to make! A crime after all.
Surely it isn't based on simple assumption?
That if its high it must be the retailer who came up with it?
We all know manufacturers and distributors pull the same tricks, on retailers as well as us in turn.

        • That's how it works on ozbargain. Assumptions rule the day :-) one of the radios I've pulled way back on offering deals

        • +3

I cant believe that accusation still stands, and the swearing by the same person, they have been reported, dunno if you have.
I have stopped bothering sharing bargains I find too, there is always somebody there to make sure to take the joy out of it. It used to be a rush to get them up, check if i could find cheaper, try and be the 1st, get to help people ( really get off opn helping people. Its never good enough. God forbid putting any of our stuff on here.
Its a sad, and the worst bit is they have no idea how much they are costing us all, merchants who wanted to give to deals just dont come back - even massive loss leaders arent good enough. 75sqm of sticker vinyl for $30 the poor guy took a beating because he said it as it was, free plus what it cost him to get from the warehouse to the showroom. Nice guy, huge range of businesses, gone for good.
$7 Buffalo wifi n network cards (Back when el-cheapo was $20+)- people had hissys that the seller had to stop selling temprorarily to do an exact count thanks to the unexpected run on them. Somebody even negged it because then didnt understand teh standard and tried to claim that since the were 1i1o they werent n.
          Even free isnt safe.

        • Like I said, it's why I've stopped offering deals for now. Maybe when I get something new and interesting I might.

        • +3

It's unfortunate…. I think we might be missing out on many good deals, as a large (and growing), number of people do not wish to post anymore, (myself included).
The negging system has lost all of it's usefulness. It used to be a way of highlighting information about a deal, usually where it might be found cheaper….. It rarely serves that purpose now…. it's been a broken system for a number of years….
