Until the 4th of Feb, FXHOME is giving away free licences to two products:

• PhotoKey 6 Lite
  Snap your subject in front of a green screen and PhotoKey 6 Lite will take care of the rest, automatically replacing the background with a new image of your choice.
• HitFilm 2 Express
  Hybrid video editor and visual effects software. After shooting a video on your smartphone, DSLR or camcorder you can edit the results, create complex visual effects and upload to YouTube all inside this one application. That’s why Freddie Wong, YouTube superstar filmmaker, describes HitFilm as “in our opinion, the single best software package for aspiring visual effects artists and filmmakers.”

To download, it will tell you to share on facebook, but just close the popup window and you can skip this part. You will need to confirm your email address, but you can use the same one for both products.

  Haven't tried the photo one, but disappointed in the video one - it's slow-mo capabilities suck. It took a 15sec clip, made it in slow mo, but I couldn't get it to play slower and play the actual clip - it played the first 4 sec or so of the clip slowly, but then just cut to a black screen. +1 on the deal anyway but the video thing won't be of much use to me. Hopefully the photo one is better. (It may have been user error anyway)

  Looks alright, for those unfamiliar with using Photoshop, this looks nice and easy.

    ebay. but you don't need it to be green. Green/blue work the best but others will do too.

  Seems to work under Wine/Linux :) (Specifically Ubuntu 13.10 64bit with wine 1.7 from ppa. Presumably other variants would also work fine)
