so many people had troubles clawing $50 out of commbank from previous promotions

I was on netbank doing some transfers then when I logged out this link came up in the log out screen so it's public.

    • A quick online chat which CBA solved it for me, not that much trouble tbh.

  • New subject: "$50 cash when you open a new CBA MyWealth account and make a trade"

that's the path i you should use to sign up if you are interested so you can't be denied your bonus because it was only for targeted customers

also take screenshots of the t&cs and each page of sign up. even better use a desktop recorder to record the whole sign up process.

From what I can tell, they charge $40 per roundtrip (19.95 x 2)- throw in the spread on top of that - so unless you also have one of those $600 in free brokerage offers, it's a waste of your time.

    • I don't understand why this comment got negged. Is it incorrect?

        people thought it was jv

  • i got the $50 from last offer but only after two phone calls, 'admin error' my a$$, notice how they almost never make the error in your favour? coincidence? not bloody likely
ps looks like the buggers are getting crafty, you have to open the new account and make a trade! wonder what the cheapest trade is?

    • $500 minimum usually

      • Correct, the value of the shares purchased at the order limit should be a minimum $500. Inclusive of brokerage, its a minimum $519.95 transaction

If it is really such a trouble to get the $50 out of them, I don't think the offer is worth it. Rather get a trading account that suits your needs.

    • Neg worthy?

As far as I know, $20 per trade is cheap.
The way it see it, it's a "free" $10 for a few clicks.

Just don't pick a dud stock.

    • …Except you're risking a lot more for the sake of $10. And that's aside from the hassle.

    • Except between the spread and slippage on both legs, you can easily be out more than ten bucks. Even if you manage to pick something trading flat with enough volume that price doesn't move against you.

Which, to be honest, given you are just picking blind is a 50/50 proposition. At best.

      But hey, ten bucks.

I believe this is what they call picking pennies in front of steamrollers.

Much better off with this offer ($600 free brokerage) http://www.investing.commsec.com.au/homeoffer2
