  • 1 TB of Pron for $35 sounds good!

Why do people waste their money on these? Even with DMCA takedown $5 a month for unlimited Usenet is a better option. Removed files are usually popular enough to be found elsewhere easily.

Maybe they download less than 140gb a month?

      You know… because maths.

      • Didn't think usenet was for the 140gb/month user…

    • Let’s see. $5 per month
1TB block account purchased August 2012, 213.53 GB left.

Based on usage, should take me all up 22 months to use.

1TB for $35 or $110 for the same amount of actual usage.
Yeah, I see what you mean, $5 per month is far better option.

In fairness of full disclosure, I was using TPB more than Usenet, and have now stopped and added a 2TB block account front NewsgroupDirect ($60 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127863)
Now my Astra block acc is back up only, but I still would download far less than the 140GB+ per month required to make a $5 monthly acc of better value than this $35 block account.

Fair enough 140gb would last me a week , for my $5 a month Id get a 5-6tb not much of a comparison…..Usenet subscriber since 96 sounds like ozb are piratebay monkeys.

        • We all bow in awe of your PRO TIER downloading habits. Tell use more about your epic animu collection.

        • Insults all other Ozb members, I wonder what will happen to this comment in regards to votes?

  • Free usenet is better. You just need to know where to look.

    • and where is that exactly?

    • Unless your ISP provides it, most free ones are painfully slow. Not enough connections. Tweaknews is my preferred. Frugal are my next option. I have a NGD block account but never use it since going tweaknews

  • Im still looking for something to replace NZBmatrix. Anyone recommend anything?

      Nzbplanet. Nzbclub. Usenet-crawler

They are no nzbmatrix but they should help you out

      I am using NZB.SU, and it's great.

Nzbclub seemed like a decent free one.

      • I like dog better than nzb.su, but both are plenty good.

        • I missed out on Dog by one day before they shut it down to openly join.
Luckily I already had a SU one set up that wasn’t been used when the Matrix crash happened and all good alternatives closed doors to new people.
