  • now you have to just wait until you forgot you ordered them for them to arrive. … seriously love the bargains on the hut/zavvi but the slow shipping is killer sometimes.

  • If you do the maths , you got ripped because after currency conversion the matrix on Blu ray is still cheaper at jb hifi

    • I think the OP means he ordered The Matrix Trilogy Blu-ray box set that's normally £9.95 but down to £8.96. He certainly couldn't have ordered the single first Matrix Blu-ray movie at £8.96 since the coupon code only applies to box sets.

  • It's a pity that The Hut's delivery time is so slow like Zavvi's and their packaging would be so poor also. The last time I had a Blu-ray box set delivered from their sister shop Zavvi it was sent only in a plastic satchel and one of the Blu-ray cases from the box set was smashed so bad i had to throw it away. I'll never shop from Zavvi again or The Hut since it's basically the same company since their packaging quality for international freight is crap compared to Amazon UK.

    • I buy Steelbooks from Zavvi and they come packed pretty well considering the postage cost, with foam slip and then slim cardboard box.

      • Reminds me the last time I had a steelbook Blu-ray (Hot Fuzz) from Zavvi it came with a very large dint on the case that was clearly from shipping damage. That small thin cardboard box and thin foam slip did bugger all to protect it. Why do you think their shipping charge is only £0.99 because they skimp out highly on parcel packaging every time. I had to rebuy Hot Fuzz Blu-ray steelbook but from DVD Empire in the US which came well protected and was perfect.

Compare Zavvi's crap packaging to Amazon UK's delivery packaging which is specially made for steelbook blu-rays. Never had a problem from Amazon UK. They do charge more for shipping but they don't skimp out on parcel protection. I suggest Amazon UK or DVD Empire.

        • That's bad luck, I have bought about six steelbooks from Zavvi and they all came perfect. Sometimes Amazons packaging leaves a lot to be desired. I have had dinged up corners, gaping and split packaging, even a cut mark across a book. It's luck of the draw I think, some you win, some you lose.

        • Yes well all i can say is there'll come a time when your steelbook will come with a nice dint in it because those small cardboard boxes can't take much force.

        • Take that back! LOL

  • I'm getting delivery cost of £1.99 for International Standard on both box sets and single Blu Rays at The Hut.

    • Yes because you've ordered two items. Each of the box sets in your cart is delivered separately so you get a delivery charge of £0.99 for each item so your two items comes to £1.99.

  • I've been looking at the Curb Your Enthusiasm box set for a few weeks now, waiting for an extra discount. Up until a couple of days ago it's been priced at £39.99. I saw the discount today, only to find the price has increased to £42.95! I hope they're not increasing prices to offset their discount code!

  • Love this offer.
Hut/Zavvi are very efficient these days, i have had more amazon UK orders go missing or take forever to arrive, Zavvi/TheHut always arrive within about a week of dispatch.

Plus one to the OP from me

    • I've had no orders from Amazon UK go missing and they usually arrive in about a week and a half to two weeks. On the other hand orders from Zavvi took weeks to arrive and I've had a few orders arrive from them with damaged Blu-ray cases.

      • I pre-ordered Pacific Rim Steelbook from Amazon (as it was cheaper) it NEVER arrived and when i contacted them, all they could do at that time was refund my money.. i then had to purchase it from Zavvi at a higher price… and it arrived within about 7 business days. Same thing happened with Iron Man 1-3 box set, amazon one went missing and Zavvi one showed up.
Cant put it down to it being stolen from my doorstep or letterbox either as i use a Parcel Locker.
So i disagree…. Amazon parcels are more likley to go missing or not show up in my experience.
