Well okay then? There's been previous Gold Exclusive freebies on Xbox posted on the main site, will post such things in the forum next time though.
Not necessarily the case - historically we have plenty of deals and freebies that require Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation accounts. All the Costco deals also require membership which is not free.
However the cost of membership could be a reason why someone might not like this deal.

Would be good if some example is provided sui we can revise the guidelines for moderation. Gaming forum is for topical discussions. Free Software/Website forum is for posting apps / games that have always been free.
If you check back far enough you'll find evidence Scotty. Its been this way for a long time now so you may need to go back a lot more than three pages. Its your site, doesn't bother me how you deem fit to moderate it, just makes it difficult to keep up when policy changes without any indication.

Any other month you'd have most guys agreeing with you; but since lots of them now surprisingly have exactly one month's Xbox live gold membership (go figure), they'll be calling this a "deal" for the short term at least!
Easiest way around here, don't bother pointing stuff out coz OzB'ers in general can be pretty damn fickle, just leech the bargains. ;)

Did you pay with your credit card or you had one of those XBL cards from retailers?? If XBL card then it wont work. I talk to Xbox Support and to get those free games you have to pay for XBL with your credit card instead of purchasing an XBL card
I recently used a 1 month Xbox Live Gold card that was inside my new Xbox (as part of the $79 cashback deal), and was able to get Sleeping Dogs for free. Not sure if this is what you're referring to with 'XBLA cards'.

yeah i paid with xbl card i bought off the ozgameshop deal couple of days ago.
edit: after i logged out and back in. the first thing i got is to select a membership option but i have already joined.

i got it finally after adding credit card to account.
those having prepaid xbox live gold account and having trouble.
- Add a credit card to account
- if it still shows normal price, click link that reads Games (1) in the left hand sidebar to get redirected to the correct page where it will come up as free if you are a gold member.

I use paypal by the way, I don't want MS billing me for the XBOX live renewal as you can get it for Half what they want.

If you don't want to add your credit card or paypal details just get it on your Xbox. Search the game manually on the console and it will come up as free.

My 2nd favourite game all of time, this game is amazing.
How to fit this on the Xbox 4gb, cause its an 6gp download. Can I just plug an appropriatly sized flash drive and d/l and go ahead. Or do I need to purchase a HDD right away-waiting for a good deal on one.
Plug in the flash drive (at least 7GB for this download probably) and go to Storage, press Y and format the flash drive. At the end it should tell you if the flash drive meets the requirements to play games on it.
You could use a Flash drive now. And when you get a HDD, you can move it from the Flash drive to the HDD from the Storage menu on your Xbox.
You don't even have to download it now, just "buy" it now to tie it to your xbox account and download at your leisure.
FYI JB Hifi has 320GB HDD for $69.

To add, on the Dashboard under 'games with gold' there are also other reduced games. Just Cause 2 for $9.97, Hitman Blood Money for $14.97 and Tomb Raider is $33.46, all gold exclusive.
Whats the cheapest way to get this as my gold has expired? I have a 14 day trial and 48 hour trial assume I can't use these? Would the cheapest way be to buy 1 month for $11 with credit card?
