Got them to check scan price, since it had a $79.00 sticker on it.
Scanned at $20.00, so grabbed the last 2 here in Cairns.

They are locked to VF, but just got unlock code for one of them from VF for free, other I paid less than 2 bucks for on eBay.

Very good 3G devices with support for all 3G networks in AU.

I believe they come with 3GB of Data for the VF network, to be used within 30 days.

    Original price (even a year ago) is $79.

    It's an older superseded model - can't imagine it has gone up in price by nearly 50%!

    More likely this older model will be very hard to find, like the E585 this time last year at BigW clearance.

  This 3G modem has been superseded by the $109 4G EXTREME, so may be little stock.

  FREE Unlocking at Vodafone online:
  enter IMEI code
  - sometimes not listed but you simply request unlock. Takes a few days to get SMS to say to try the unlock again.
  Worked for me so many times, never had a fail.

      Thanks. That's strange as cnet review above indicates it is. Vodafone lists it as 3G+ rather than 3G. Twice the battery life, twice the number of devices can connect. Not that anyone here wants a similar unit at 5.5 times the price ;-)

      Main point was that this deal is for a superseded model, so stock will be very limited. That was the experience 1 year ago with BigW clearance of Pocket WiFi 2. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89216

      Just be aware the $109 EXTREME is not the model on clearance if you ring/ask at BigW, as happened above.

        I had one of the Extreme ones, got it on Gumtree, but sold it again, was to big and heavy.
        Dick Smith had them for $79.00 a few weeks ago, now at $99.00

        But would not pay that kind of money for something which is not 4G.

        Just should have stated in deal this is a clearance / superseded item, so stock will be very limited (I found none).
