wow actually looks like they'll be shipping copies out! Great find if it's real.
I dunno website seems a little fishy but if nothing happens thats fine.
Trailer is nicely put together but no gameplay at all in it.
Screenshots are all small 4:3 images to. Kinda unusual.

  • Ordered an Xbox One copy using my work details.

  • Idk what this is but its free so i ordered for ps4 lol

  • +5

It's a preorder with a year and a half until the infection starts.

does anyone know the company. or is this vapourware?

  • At the end of the game trailer on their website it says the infections spreads 3/29/15. I assume its the release date. Could be wrong

  • +1

So it's free now but we won't get it till over a year?

  • +2

So order for a console you'll have in 1.5 years…more if delayed

  • +8

Doesn't make sense. Can't even guarantee people will be living in the same place in 2015. Must be an error or spam drive.

    • Yea I was just thinking about that and I'm thinking about moving. Hopefully they make a way for us to update. Heres hoping I still have access to that spam email address I gave them in that time.

  • +1

    Ordered for the PS4!
I should have one in 1.5 year's time.

    • hmm didn't think about the release date so far away thought they'd be shipping much sooner. I didn't even bother to look just fill the form and click send haha! Yeah I might have a PS4 by then too oh well should be interesting.

  • +1

Nice, went and grabbed an XB1 copy.

I have faith they will deliver despite the games 2015 release 458 days away and hell its the best marketing scheme I've ever seen. It will get crazy word of mouth.

  • +3

Ordered. Now let's see if anyone remembers…

  • Check out their facebook page, looks like the developers do reply.

How is anyone seriously falling for this? It's obvious that it's a scam based around data collecting… Zero information on the game, "trailer" using generic footage, domain registration information protected by Domains By Proxy, LLC and the only company/business (which doesn't officially exist on any govt database) that uses the name "Turbul3nce Media" is a web development agency.

Don't worry though! I'm sure they have the hundreds of thousands of dollars that would be required to physically ship the copies their giving away for free…

    http://turbul3nce.com/

    • +2

Yeah looking at the domain it is dodgy. The SSL certificate for the site is set-up wrong as well (can only think he just added it to test HTTPS and left it on there). DNS SAN's setup are for www.denaroclothing.com. That domain is registered to a fellow called Brian M**** who has this homepage: iambrianmosko.com/portfolio/zombiekillr/. So, I dunno. It all looks kind of dodgy (at the very least massively over hyped by the dev).

  • +12

Hmmm no encrypted connection when submitting details and no privacy policy that I can find - the cynic in me wonders what the going rate on 100K full names + addresses is these days (not to mention which console you can pinch from said individuals house)…

Adding to this the collection of 3D renders they claim to have done for the game that seem to all (bar the airport ones) come from http://www.turbosquid.com if you use Google image search on them. I wouldn't get my hopes up…

  • Well IDK it allowed me to order a copy for each console. So I went ahead ordered once for each. Not sure which consoles I'll have by the time this ships, not sure where I'll be living either. I used the create account option, thinking that will allow me to update details should the need arise. This would make a lot more sense if it was for digital downloads, but it sounds like they are shipping disk based games. If this is shipping from the US, hope they will have the proper region encoding to be compatible here.

  • +3

Seriously looks like a scam. Can't find any information on this title and the renders look so fake.

  • +3

Mostly it is a scam… careful for those who gave details already

  • +3

The renders look terrible, there are real people in the shots. Damn I gave up so much of my details, the way its worded to give it away for free is already too suss. Looking at their facebook page there's nothing covering the development of this game.

PLUS they have support for every console/platform available so everyone can easily hand their details over.

    • +1

To come to think of it, I think it would be a scam as well. Twitter page is empty, can't believe I fell for such a sucker. Pray to god they won't do anything with my details…

        Domain Name: KILLTHEINFECTED.COM
        Registrar URL: http://www.godaddy.com
        Registrant Name: Registration Private
Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
        Name Server: NS77.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
        Name Server: NS78.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
        DNSSEC: unsigned

Conveniently registered through domains by proxy

        • +2

Yeah I didn't look up on that. Was caught in the thrill of a freebie. Lesson learnt!

        • Thanks Turna. Wow, you totally confirmed it. Total scam.

      • +1

"Pray to God"? You're gonna use that for this?

        • Yes, I wouldn't want to be a victim of kogan and vista print spam :P On a serious note, who knows what they will do with my details, honestly unwanted advertising isn't the worst thing that could happen. I could be overreacting but yet again, who knows.

  • Hmmm…. "Lucky ones die first". Sounds like there's a catch.

  • +3

you all gave your dox to a known scam site.

    good going guys!

    enjoy the spam mail

  • Everything about this seems poor. Not convinced!

  • +1

Agree it looks like a scam to me. Having worked in games development the "renders" use different lighting model types which would not happen if they all came from the same game engine.

My private details are worth more to me than this questionable giveaway is offering.

  • +7

It's heart-warming to see the OzBargain natives not accepting every 'bargain' that's presented before them. Choice discernment, bro.

  • +4

Apparently those that provide address details are the first to become zombies.

  • -1

Now that I think about it, why would one need a nuclear reactor to create "anti-prions" to stop the spread of them before it "breaches the mountains."

Most vacuous and lazy writing ever.

  • Might be stupid to ask but, any chance anyone knows how to rescind details and what not?

    • +6

Our details are gone mate, its a 1 way street on a scam site.

      • What do you reckon the worst case scenario is?

        • +18

          Endless Kogan emails

        • You just made my day lol

    • Just send one dollar using their secure payment portal and you can have your details back, honest.

  • +3

looks sus, and yes a 2.1 million budget to send out free games (per their fb post responses) doesn't seem right for a new company. i haven't looked into it but trust what you have all said - that it's a new company that's sprung outta nowhere.

save yourself the trouble - it may be legit, it may not be. i'd say you have more to gain keeping your details secure. not to mention if it is any good i doubt it would be free, the chances are even if something comes it'll be shit.

    Stay safe all!

  • Looks too suss

  • Yeah looks quite suspicious, I'd avoid them for now at least.

  • How does discounting something that is free make sense? Seems fishy let alone everything that's been mentioned before.

  • +3

Damn, well looks like my email is going to be destroyed with spam. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you haven't yet.

  • +4

Can a mod at least delete this?

Kicking myself for using my actual email…

    • +3

I'm more kicking myself for using my mobile

  • +1

If you have to signup to this, use http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ with a throwaway email. Seems way to suss. (Using whois protection as well)

  • Scam. Kill it before it spreads!

  • fake

  • Just waiting for my email address to get spammed or phone to get spammed by telemarketers.

  • +4

Clearly fake. The first thing I did was a reverse image search on their renders.

    http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-shopping-mall/480937

    Look familiar??

  • +2

Oh no! Should have read this first before giving away my details

  • +5

There's a post on their Facebook page of someone (from OzBargain?) that has already done an analyses on this entire game/company. http://bengoodwin.com.au/the-saga-of-kill-the-infected-and-g…

  • Definitely fake. This guy threw up a landing page in 5 minutes and is just trying to drum up interest, perhaps in the hopes it can be used to land a round of funding later. Good intentions, perhaps, but there's nothing big behind this.

  • Defiantly a scam.

  • I should have thought about this better. No deal here.

  • if this was meant to be a game studio launching on every console out there,

why would they use GoDaddy and only register the domain for a year?

    Expiration Date: 26-aug-2014

seems a little nice and convenient.

  • +2

    dodgy scam

would be good to get this off the front page

  • scam

  • +1

Used a Email Account i Dont use anymore and shall see in a few years if its true.

  • +1

    scam

  • +2

guys, I have found out more.
    http://turbul3nce.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Turbul3nce_…
If anyone affected could be bothered confirming with the bloke or calling the phone number….(anonymously)

    • -1

      hm..

  • "An escaped virus. No one thought it would happen. In a perfect storm of evolution, stupidity, and a massive population, the Cryptix virus is released."

Oh come on. How did so many people fall for this? Their own description just screams "We are the 'virus'".

    • I think it's more no one took the time to look or read before ordering. Just like most Free things posted here it's a race to get one. I didn't get a chance to fully inspect till after I "placed an order". After that it just got more and more suspicious.

Ozbargain is basically the perfect place to post this if you wanted to grab a nice amount of people before they'd investigate. Although posting it on Christmas day seems like the worst time to do it.

  • lol ~ sounds so suss that its offered for all platforms including iphone…must be shit then??? and even when this game comes out its better to buy when the time comes :D sounds way to suss

  • +3

to assist those who place real details, spam them with fake ones!

  • Sorry, I'm against pitchforking. Previous comment removed.

  • +2

Google image searched one of the renders: exact match for this:
    http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/maya-retail-store/713387

    Pretty obviously a scam.

  • +1
