  1. Using a web browser go here: https://www.gog.com/en/account and find Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition/Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, click on the game > More > Serial Keys and copy the key.

  2. Redeem the key here: https://www.gog.com/en/redeem

This works with a number of games, but my understanding is that these keys are generally used to enable online multiplayer.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition were Prime Gaming freebies multiple times in the past, the most recent being Dec 2024.

      That provides another edition of the same game? None that I'm aware of. For example, with Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition the provided serial key is used in-game to access online multiplayer.

      I believe the Enhanced version was on the PS4 so the PS2 version would have been the earlier version.

      I don't remember Baldur's Gate 2 ever being on the PS2.

      That was a spin-off series called “Dark Alliance” which began on PS2/Xbox

      It was released about 4 years after the original Baldur’s Gate II on PC.

      They re-released an “HD” version of Dark Alliance I / II on PS4/PS5 but it’s a very basic upscaled version.

      Tuque/Invoke recently butchered the latest release with the “Dark Alliance” license sadly.

        Tell me about it. Finally a Drizzt and party game, perfect setup for co-op hack and slash and it ended up terrible and a flop.

          Yeah, it saddened me, but it's not the first and it won't be the last average sequel/reboot.
          I don't care if they name it something else, as long as spiritually it's a decent successor and ultimately, a fun to play Co-op ARPG.

    My understanding is they are the same game just with some extra features/patchs etc so would this not just be like getting an older version of the same game without the pre-built mods/patchs making them a re-release and just adding extra games to your list? If anything this just allows the original modding options as the newer versions are almost like 'pre-modded'

      Over 1800 clicks and just over 200 upvotes. Most Ozbargain users aren’t logged in members. Plus an upvote doesn’t mean they will add the game. It just rates the bargain as a good one.
