I've been using Glary Utils since version two point something, it's a pretty decent bit of software and has helped clean up quite a few slow windows installs I've encountered over the years. It reviews fairly well most places and is always getting updates so they seem to stay on top of issues etc.

Not sure about the other freebies, but Glary Utilities Pro is very good. I've been using it for 4 or 5 years.

  • Thanks Foo, be handy if they put the time its going live hey, where did you see 6 or 7?

    • Assuming (hoping) it goes live midnight pacific standard time which is GMT -8 and we're GMT +10 so 18:00 hours AEST with any luck :)

  • good stuff. thank you for this post!

    (waiting till its active also)

  • I might give this a try out.

  • Deal is active now.
    Thanks foobar.

  • Thanks again Foo, typically we immediately had to download a newer version straight away, thought it may start asking for payment etc but all good.

Bbit of a weird setup for registration to get rid of trail etc but worked it out eventually.

It asked my win8.1 system to reboot but not win7

I've been using Advanced System Care after their free version months back which just ran out, never used Glarys before, doesn't seem a feature pack but for will give it a go

    Cheers! ;-)

  • FYI, to register, you have to click on the word PRO on the bottom right corner (after you install it) and then click on the 'Refresh' link once your license details pop up.

Your serial number is in the small text file in the .zip file you downloaded. Copy and paste that over the old 30 day license that is there by default and it will become a 366 day license instead.

You have to Activate it in the next 24 hours though I believe (or maybe just need to install it).

    Regards
    Daniel

  • Thanks Daniel,

When I click on the Manage license -

    1. There is a license code already in there.

    2. It says Professional ediion and Expiry Date: Never

However, if I follow your instructions and paste the license code from the readme.txt file then it says Professional Edition with license expiry date after 365 days.

Surely I'm better to stick with the original license code that has unlimited expiry.

    Welcome feedback.

    Thanks and thanks OP:-)

    • Mine shows expiry 30 days and 365 days after I enter the key code. So I have done that on multiple computers around the home.
