  • Thanks for a great deal, as well as all the useful info!!

  • I normally only use netflix, now I can give Hulu a go. :)

  • +1 for Media Hint add-on

  • +7

    hulu's ad's are annoying

switched to netflix after trying hulu for 2 months trial

  • Great info I am having real dramas with Hulu & Hula plugin, I will try the mediahint proxy

  • I have Netflix, Hulu, HBO, ESPN and more running through my two Apple TVs using unotelly.

    Much better than foxtel. :)

    • How would one go about getting HBO? - happy to pay but HBO GO codes seem rarer than rocking horse doodoo

      • There was a forum for this but I cant remember the URL sorry.

Basically Pay TV users in the US can create an aditional ammount of logons. So you need to find someone willing to 'sell' you one of those logons.

  • Mediahint still won't let you look at the netflix website. For both Chrome and Firefox.

Hey guys how do you get a subrscription to ESPN? is it normal cable USA ESPN or an internet version?

  • I've had HULU and I hated the interface. Sure, it has shows that Netflix doesn't but in terms of useability, Netflix wins hands down. - Using via a WD TV Live Hub ($80-$90), Netflix annual sub $32 and Getflix (which makes it a lot easier to deal with) which is about $2 a month (there are discounts off the $2.95 normal fee). That's access on the computer AND the TV - who needs to bother with FOXTEL anymore?

How are you paying $32 annually for netflix? I am paying about $8 USD monthly I think?

      • There are constantly discounted gift certificates for annual subscriptions on ebay etc. Because they're bulk and electronic, they are serious discounts (however, some aren't that great - you really need to watch for them). My experience has been to contact the seller first and ensure they are happy to provide the certificate code and to someone outside the US. I've not been rejected yet and Netflix's constant policy is 'if people outside the US connect to us, good luck to them' :)

Edit - Also, make sure it's the US service if that's what you're after and that's what you've reset your WD (or other box) to. No point in getting a membership for UK and not being able to use it!

        • Doesn't seem to be many code for sale at the moment :(

      • $38 annually via ebay

        • Yep - floats up and down but anything around $30-35 is a good deal :)

        • Can you link me to a reputable seller please all i see is low feedback peeps

        • Yes,please post a link to the seller.

          Thanks!

    • US$5/month I think

    • Getflix has 17% off until Dec 31st, so $2.45 per month at the moment.

    • I set this up last night just to try for the first time last night.
It was extremely easy to set up.
US PSN acc for the Netflix app
      Netflix account created.
Getflix acc for US pointing DSN, easy instructions supplied.

Streaming in Super HD a few minutes later.
Didn’t look as crap as I was expecting, pretty good actually.

I do have a WD TV Live Hub, but a firmware update a while ago removed the possibility of Netflix on it.

Does anyone know if Getflix DNS directory has any effect on latency for gaming?

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting. I got an Apple TV a few weeks ago & have been thinking about getting a Hulu subscription.

  • thanks

I was able to sign up using my Commonwealth Bank Debit MasterCard, just added a '0' to the end of my postcode. Pretty stoked, didn't accept my card the last time that I tried it! :P

    • Thank you!

Last time I got Hulu Plus I had to buy one of those overpriced prepaid cards. The Hulu site now accepts my St George Visa. :D

  • i hulu you

  • Anyone ever bought from here, Seems cheap

  • Expired :(

Don't worry not missing out on much, it has so much annoying advertising. Only advantage it seems that it has different content to Netflix and it's more up to date, latest episodes instead of being behind.

      • +1

With a lot of series if you switch to UK Netflix, you get the latest series.

        • Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. :)
