I have a headache trying to figure out what you are talking about.

  • These are also free for Ikea Family members (although it's just a code - pretty sure you can just register using it without actually being an Ikea Family memmber) - just do a search on old OzB deals…

  • Just signed up. Pretty good deal if you think you may need to hire one of the GoGet cars at some point, but don't want to throw $49 down the drain.

  • It's always free for IKEA family members so I wouldn't rush. For me I signed up and haven't used it.

    Just remember:

The GoStarter Plan has no security deposit but a $500 pre-authorisation and that amount needs to be available on your card when you sign up and whenever you make a booking.

That hold for $500 remains there for 10-14 days!

Yes, that's correct. Anyone who doesn't know how pre-authorisations work shouldn't own a credit card.

      • +1

because 10-14 days is totally normal for pre-auths! -_-

          Yes, it is.

I just did a quick search around my suburb, the nearest car available is over an hour walk away… A bit pointless to join…

    • +2

not everyone lives in your suburb jv,
Could be useful for anyone living in the eastern suburbs. I've seen tons of their spots there

    • I use them for lunch runs at work, and getting to and from meetings if the client's in a location with parking. Pretty useful. Absolutely nothing even remotely close to my place.

    • Try living outside a capital city.

My nearest carshare car (of any scheme) is over an hour drive away.

And it's not as if I'm way out in the boonies, right in the middle of Australia's 17th biggest city (according to Wikipedia so it must be true).

I'd be all over car share if they'd put one near me. Renting a car for a whole weekend when I only need it for a couple of hours is pox.

    • Long walk = Fit body!

  • Signed up. Plenty of cars around me, could be useful in an emergency.

  • This is a great service. It's much more practical than hiring a car for short term use if they have cars around you. I used it frequently when living in inner Sydney.

Heard the customer service has been deteriorating pretty badly via various online forum.

So I tried to get in touch with them via email and phone about one month ago.

    No response whatsoever.

    Guess it proves it

  • still waiting for a carshare scheme in Perth…

not that i personally need it but so many people would benefit

  • Am with greensharecar and their service has proved to be incompetent. We have a broken down car and have had all the blame put onto us when it's a serious technical issue. We are still waiting for a replacement car 36hrs after the fact. Have felt extremely unsupported and stranded. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what we are experiencing.
