But I thought you could send a real handwritten card anywhere in Australia for 65-70c (whatever the rate is for stamps now).

    • rate for Christmas stamps is only $0.55 plus card probably $0.30

A true OzBner would cross out the address and write "return to sender" on the front of a random envelope and write the intended recipient's address on the back whilst including a handwritten card. Postage = $0.00

        Infinitely cheaper than Card Corner.

    • Jeez Mafmouf, when was the last time you used snail mail.
I use 60c stamps, but they're the size of an envelope these days with pictures of animals.
So big they cover half of the address !!

      • Not that long ago but I noticed every time I went in for stamps it seemed 5c more expensive. No joke, I went to the post office once with my 50c only to be laughed at as they were then 55c. 10%?!?!?!

I assumed by now it's close to 70c. At least I was wrong :)

        • Agreed - waiting for my next QLD electric bill next year - 30% charge increase

        • You're telling us, we've got about 100 stamps we can't use anymore!!

        • Uh, no. Unfranked stamps are legal tender. As long as you dont spend more than $10 in one go, everyone is legally required to accept it.

  • What a great idea! But seriously just write it yourself its 50x cheaper.

I remember there used to be a time when you could pay a street vendor to write letters for those who couldn't write themselves.

    Looks like it's back.

You remember that far back ? - you should have rigamortis by now.

You might also remember that time you paid for someone to read your letters to you ?

Receiving one of these would be more insulting than not getting one at all.

It's kinda says "I care so little about you that I despise spending 2 minutes personally filling out a card and posting it, so I'll get some guy in India to do it for me."

    • Imagine what they'd think if they got your user name as a gift in the mail…

    • Anyone got broden's address?
      ;)

      • He probably bundled it with one of the PS3's for a 'great deal.'

    • Yep…. Indians, behind every Australian malaise.

      • No, we voted in Abbott all by ourselves.

        • He has the embodiment of what every Australian should aspire to be.

          Being a total cock?

      • nope - some stay-at-home mum buying end of season card packs of 20 for $1, value adding. Gotta love SME.

How long has this business been around - or more likely how long will it be around ?

No serious business could be making profit from such low volume sales in such a restrictive time frame.

Is there a limit on the number of characters?

Seems a cheap way to get a whole book hand written ;)

Handwritten message reads "Dear Mum, again we are looking forward to a wonderful Christmas Day with you and as usual your cooking and baking will be enjoyed by us all.
I hope you'll use the Coles gift card included in this Christmas card for the ingredients and that you use the rest of the money to buy yourself a lovely gift for yourself."

On Christmas day Mom says "Thanks for the card son, I never knew you had such beautiful handwriting. My how it's changed since your school days.
And thanks for the Coles gift card inside, $5 isn't your usual contribution at Christmas time but should help a little with the Christmas dinner I'm putting on for you and your lovely wife and my beautiful 8 grand-children you have given me over the years. I guess we'll have to economize and enjoy my baked dinner of beans on toast this year if things for you are that tight"

    • That begs the questions: What is the true OzBargain Christmas dinner?

      • KFC with vouchers?

    • Haha great post

  • Why not have your message read (performed) personally to the recipient.
Call Mr Flim-Flam, anyone remember him ? La-La-La-La

  • Whatever happened to strip-o-grams? Don't they deliver messages too?
