    Kind of creepy.

My kids love "Grandpa in my pocket" so this might be just the xmas present I was looking for. Does the scanee need to be alive, or can you do a Weekend at Bernie style scan?

    • +2

Hi TheSly, yes the scannee need to be alive and able to stand on our scanning platform:)

  • Wtf who would buy this.

if there are more than one person connected, will that still count as one piece?

    • +1

Hi Joeydee, sorry our scanner can capture only one person at a time.. so one piece can be one person only..

I can see a couple wanting to get this for their wedding cake - themselves kissing or holding hands.

Weddings are big business. People spend tens of thousands on them. Plenty of wedding cakes cost $500 or more. This would surely be a much bigger market than "make a figurine of yourself".

Why not look into how you might fit two people on, or make them so they can be printed one-at-a-time but then placed together afterwards (get people to pose with their hands or lips at the right height and angle).

Otherwise this will end up like all the failed startups that just had cool technology, a "solution without a problem", when you could have done something people actually want and drowned in money.

Hi mgowen, thank you for your advise. Although the scanner can scan only one person at a time but we could do something to the models so that they look connected. Once we get the 3D image, our designing team can do a lot of things to the model, including kissing or holding hands, or even make their muscle bigger, add tattoo, and change the hair color:)

Hmmmmm…..I never did get to try that virtual reality machine at the shopping centre back in early '90's

hi penthius, all the scanned file will be kept for 3 months in case that you may need more copies. after 3 months those files will be deleted.

      • can you request a copy of the scan file ?

        • Hi altomic, yes we do provide obj file on request.

  • Reminds me of this … http://www.jenslennartsson.se/do-you-want-you-own-gi-jens/ ( A photographer used the 3D models as advertising … great idea - so it was not 3D printing …)

  • Would love to get one of these for a child's Christmas present- has anybody had a decent one done in Perth?

    • +1

Hi COR80, our Perth Store will open soon. Please watch our website thanks:)
