It's not so bad. Assuming that you can squeeze 1 years worth of usage from this old box, you can install Windows 7 RC on it and use it for testing purposes / main desktop.
The pick-up only kinda kills it for most people though.

hmm now I see what sash213 is talking about
I was being easy. If I were being honest I would have said something along the lines of:
No XP license makes it much more expensive than similar, better refurbished PCs.
And you know what, you're right. It's a harsh world and we should treat everyone fairly, regardless of whether it's their first time. You've convinced me. Negative vote. Not a bargain.
EDIT Teehee, 4 negative votes :) And not one explanation why. Some people are so easy to annoy. It's because I'm a smart-arse, 'cause face facts folks, this ain't a bargain :P
lol uh my comment had nothing to do with yours…why did you reply to it? note my name….I'm not the person who posted this deal..
if you want to know what I was talking about look here..
It sort of did, in periphery.
I knew what you were getting at - in that too many people post that first-post stuff - and made a bit of a smart-arsed joke about it.
EDIT But without the smart-arsery, I seriously don't think this is a bargain. It's pretty much par for the course, or under.
There is a Windows Home CD KEY Sticker on there, but I didnt want to advertise that because not sure if it really works….
If it doesn't activate over the internet because its been used too many times, you can just call up using the phone method and they will activate it for you.
Uh, if there's a COA sticker on the tower than it almost has to work. You can't (legally) move licenses from one PC to another with an OEM copy. If it isn't an OEM copy then it makes more sense.
And if the motherboard has failed or internal components have been replaced MS will still activate it, just need to talk to them about it.
Not such a great deal without the OEM software that came with it (like the operating system). As a cheap basic system, not terribly bad. However, it should have "No OS" or something similar in the description if they're not providing the cdrom/dvd as well as a license sticker.
Sorry Folks, I admit i didn't factor in the lack of OS.
But people, no need to get into fisty cuffs - if you don't like it, vote and move on.
Each to their own opinion!
No Windows license/COA makes it a pretty crummy deal.
