    Centrecom have their Sale tonight, where this is expected to sell in the $200 range (suspect $250) so this is still a good deal, just Centrecom will undercut it heaps - just unsure of stock levels for tonights sale.

    We once got one of these when Asus were offering Home & Student Office 2013 for more costly models. We missed the detail of the need to buy a more costly model & rang Asus asking when we'd be receiving out Office freebie…

    After saying the freebie was meant only for more costly models, Asus -pleasant!y- surprised us by sending a nicely wrapped Office 2013 H & S freebie.

    (No similar offer seems applicable here…)

    Don't buy a first gen RT. It is underpowered, and before long, you'd find that you can't run most programs. However, future systems should be able to run Windows Modern applications just fine.

    the new baytrail atom will be 40% faster.
    Intel Atom Z2760 is extremely slow for most things, only get if this is a gift for the granny :D

    This thing with this specs(especially the Atom CPU) just reminds me of the obsolete netbooks.

      The problem with those obsolete netbooks is actually not their CPU, believe it or not, it was their lack of RAM (most shipped with 1GB, which is just not enough), their slow 5400RPM HDDs and Windows 7, which was just a very heavy OS.

      If you get a netbook, bump up the RAM to 2GB or 4GB, install an SSD and Windows 8, they'll run better than you think they will.

      I have one of these and got rid of the ipad. Got to say that i love it. Dont have any problems with lag or speed. Can do everything other then play hi spec games. I also run XBMC on it and plays from my nas like a dream. I now only carry this at work and also dumped my mac book
