A bit late notice but for if you are an iiNet customer you can make free calls to the Philippines to assist with the typhoon disaster similar to the other telecommunication companies. NOTE: Linked Whirlpool post says that iiNet actually announced it on 19 November.
I couldn't find anything official advertised about this on the iiNet website, however I emailed iiNet and they confirmed with the following details:
We’ll be covering the cost of all PSTN & VoIP calls made to the Philippines, between the 10th and 30th of November, across the entire iiNet group.
- Calls to both landlines and mobiles will be covered, across Residential & Business services. Calls from iiNet mobiles aren’t covered however, along with calls from TransACT Corporate/Govt services.
- Customers will continue to be charged as usual, and then at months end we’ll arrange for credits to be applied to their next invoice
If you have any questions, please call us back on 13 22 58 or reply in this email and one of our customer service representative will be happy to help.
very poor of IINET not to announce this earlier and not show on their site. It is almost Nov 30.
