Not limited to young children. I carry around a Nokia 110, which is pretty much this. Dual sim and battery lasts almost a week. As compared to my HTC Velocity (on a data only sim) which barely lasts a day.
Dual Sim + a long battery life is still very desirable.
These type are good for emergency only phones. Put one in the car turned off. Or for calls and small amounts of sms. I picked up 5 cheapies for under $10 each with $30 credit each and then used 4 as spare batteries.
how can you get them for under $10 each and with $30 credit each??
can this be used as a Hotpoint?
This phone is crap!
I bought 2 last time
Use 1 for a week and put bak in box never use again!
Do not buy!can you pls elaborate, what's wrong with it
Its just crap in my opinion
I think sometimes sim cant call just beeps out n hang up
Something like that cant recall..but not worth $20 last yrWhat did you expect from an $18 phone?
SOunds a case of you get what u paid for…
So you tell people not to buy it but you don't know why….. Lmao…. Jog on kid.
I say calling doesnt work sometimes.. Phone always jumps out and doesnt function properly.. If u like just buy it for urself as i say its in my opinion..
It jumps out? Of what? Your pocket?
he meant it just hung up while he tried to make calls…..without reason!
it's a "stupid phone", not a "smart phone"! :-P
I would support kspec's comment. I bought two at the last time it was sold with the debut of AldiMobile.
My unit:
1) turns off when it wants to. Even with good battery and full power.
2) the earpiece (audio) is horrible.
3) when I take/make a call, sometimes audio fades in-out
4) reception is poor - drops calls. It is not a smart phone. It's a basic phone. The ringing tone is horrible, can't change much.
But one thing for sure, if you leave it around - it comes back to you coz no one wants it. People are so keen to return the phone to you. I use it and the kids laugh at me…Even if you keep it as an emergency phone, I bet the battery won't last that long. Better to use whatever older model phone (eg. Nokia) for that.
Build quality is poor.I still buy Nokia if I wanted a phone that have good battery life & easy to find replacement(battery)
Are the 2 SIM cards active at the same time? I am looking for 3 phones for SMS testing of Telstra, Optus and Vodafone and figure that a dual SIM phone that this would save me buying a third. Also what frequencies does it support?
I don't know what other people were expecting but I was expecting a cheap phone and that's what I got. It works fine.
I don't have any problems with audio fading, reception or it switching itself off. I agree that the audio is pretty ordinary. I would have happily paid another 5 bucks if they had put in a better speaker. It's not great in bright light but then not many phones are. Keypad is a bit ordinary as well. Battery life is good but doesn't seem to be as good as when I first got it.
I have two SIMS and both are active at the same time. I run a Telstra SIM and an Aldimobile SIM and get good reception. The outdoor ring tone setting is loud which I really like.
Anyone know what is the band this phone uses. Will it work in Europe for travel if I buy a local sim card ?
The problem is young children don't want cheap phone, at least smart phone.
Cheap phone only the elders use now :p
