Apart from the hardisk being categorised as apparel, it's cheap :) .. I wonder how Hitachi stacks up with other leading brand (ie, WD, Seagate)
edit: found the review
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/hitachi-western-digital-…nice price! I have used Hitachi drives in my PC for the last 5 years without issue. One question though - The link on your website refers to model Deskstar 7K1000.B, which is not a 32Mb drive, the only 32Mb 1Tb drives have the model 7K1000-1000 or the newer E7K1000-1000. So which one are you selling?
Good buying.
Good price. Hitachi drives are good, although lately have been using Samsung drives for a cheaper drive.
Looks like Hitachi is much more competitive now though.Anyone know shipping prices from this company? Couldnt find on there website, guess have to go through whole cart process.
From my past experience prices for shipping are normally around the $15 dollar mark. Depending on size of the order. Usually sent via Fastway couriers.
Say if I bought this hd, is it easy to place in a shell-casing and use it as an external hard drive? if yes, does anyone know of a decent and cheap case?
Yes this HDD would be fine installed in an external enclosure. I can recommend the VANTEC range of cases. I have purchased a number for work and also 3 for myself including laptop and desktop sized models. They work well, look good and you can get a range of models with many interface options included, USB2/E-SATA/FIREWIRE. Check out www.vantecusa.com/front/product/index/64
Order two, one for me one for my colleague. Shipping cost $15 for one or two of this item to VIC. I called the shop and he said it is brand new item and SEALED and SHOWS 32mb cache on the box CONFIRMED. So hopefully it is the right one. Thanks for this bargain.
I just picked one up today. Model Number HDT721010SLA360 these are 16MB cache not 32MB. Don't really care as it's only a MP3/AVI disk for me.
Hi..is your receipt shows 16 or 32mb cache? I've got the receipt with 32mb cache and hopefully it will turn out 32mb cache. We'll see..
Ah…the lady called and told me it is 16mb cache so I cancelled the order. I rather get WD one for the same price with 16mb cache instead of hitachi.
Good price. But I'll never touch the offspring of the old ibm death stars
Deskstar… oh yes… they used to be called Deathstar due to their reliability issues some years ago. Hope they have improved since then!
i wonder how long it'll take them to realise that they've got prodCUT written all over their site lulz
