I see what you did there

    • i dont get it

    • Is anyone meant to?

      • +1

        actually i think he means
        Microsoft (brand)
for Office, Home and Student use

  • Good price - these things are being sold at JB at the outrageous price of $578. The Amazon price is $US 400 so $500 is reasonable.

  • Anyone know if JB HiFi do price matching? I wouldn't mind spending my JB vouchers from Coke Rewards on this…

  • Officework also has T100 http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Whats-New/SYT1…, maybe try to price match at OW

  • +3

Thanks OP. Just price matched at OW +5%, brings it down to $474.05.

Guy didn't even know what it was, their stock was still sitting out the back waiting to be put out.

    Missus better be bloody happy

    • you're welcome

    • That price is reasonably tempting…

      • shopping express had $90 off during their christmas sale
        $499 - $80 if you spent over $600, so i added a 3tb hdd for $169.
minus another $10 for new customers

    • I bought it $474.05 in OW also

  • I have a dumb question: one of the things that has stifled me from getting a tablet is the fact that they (as far as I know) don't take those wireless USB modems. Will this ASUS model do so?

Alternatively, please do tell me if there are any tablets that can make use of these modem dongles :-)

    • +1

some Chinese tabs do take specific USB modems.. this one definitely will, in the keyboard dock.

    • +1

Just think this is a Windows 8 laptop, so it will take USB modem as far as they have WIN8 drivers.

      • Thank you muchly, scubacoles and superforever. I remember some Toshibas used to be able to do this but the JB guys said I must've been "hallucinating" (in a friendly way).

        • But I am not sure whether it comes with USB port on the tablet or on the keyboard.

        • +1

micro on the tablet, usb3.0 off the k/b

        • +1

u can also use dongle adapter on micro port on tablet

        • Additional thanks, JeffKennett & furythree.

          no problems Harvey Norman Professional

  • Only issue I have with this model is it's still using only a HD capable monitor (and 2Gb RAM). On all my future mobile devices I expect at least 1080p, and for Windows a minimum of 4Gb RAM.

  • would the low storage be a problem?

    • Yes if you use it as a real laptop like others but for a tablet should be OK.

      • its got 64gb right?
but how much does the OS take…

        • 20gb but just add a 64gb microsd card

  • will this tablet with windows 8 can also play Flash player? I have prob tablet with android no longer play Flash, just like Apple.

    • does your desktop windows computer play flash?

because this is basically a laptop that can change into a tablet

      • thx for info

    • um… yes it does.. just not available on google play store anymore:

  • After 30 mins waiting on the phone, price matched at OW, $474.05, hope the bay trial atom is good. Thanks, OP

  • RAM upgradable (slot accessable)?

    • Nope, soldered.

    • Any link? Couldn't find what is H100, from ASUS or other brand? Is it Windows 8.1 or Android? With keyboard or not?

      • LOL

        • Hey shaw, fellow Harvey Norman professional, was the LOL for the H100, or the saveonit website?

        • The LOL was for his attempt to promote his own store discretely!

        • Haha, got it, a different kind of professional, then…

      • +1

Pretty sure that H100 model is the Clover Trail Atom, which is far inferior to the Bay Trail in the T100

      • Seems H100TA-DK004H = Transformer T100.

The T100 DSE link didn't work any more during their 15% off ASUS laptop special.

    • Yeah, I just noticed that too. I was on my way towards Officeworks where I was going to try to price beat :(

      • I was thinking if they have 15% over $499 I will go to OW to price match but :(

  • +1

I've got a T100 reserved at dicksmith melbourne bourke st at the $499 price. If someone wants it I can send the reservation email, I'm gonna hold out for the nokia 2520. Just ping me your email and I'll forward it on. first come first served ;)

  • Does SSD use mSATA? WiFi NIC use mini PCI-e (swap for 802.11ac card)?

  • DSE price now back to $599
