    Retails for $675

no it doesnt…it normally sells for around $399 so instead of lying why not just say 'save $100'..
It's still cheaper than normal and its more honest (and its $96 cheaper than you normally sell it for)

Agreed, considering they had it for $285 not that long ago, $299 doesn't seem all that special.

I only did a quick google so +1 for finding their previous deal…
Makes this a -ve for me

I think Ozbargain is the last place you can pull the wool over people's eyes!!

Global sets the recommended retail at $ 675….YES they sell normally for $395 so YES you save $ 96 ( This is my first post )

They were at $ 285 not so long ago however the wholesale price has gone up and i couldn't keep it at that previuos price - sorry.

You might want to check the Australian advertising laws. They don't permit the use of RRP in place of actual normal prices.

    Thanks…heading now changed :)

Why is this a bargain ? I cook alot of delicious meals with a cheap set of knives, not sure how a set of knives will improve/help your foods taste batter … but eh go capitalism.

if you've never tried using quality knives then I dont think you should make such a comment..

Prepping food with quality knives is much more enjoyable than with cheaper knives (and debatably safer)

      • Rubbish. a $5 Kiwi brand knife, a $10 meat cleaver and a $20 Mundial sharpening steel will do as good a job as these. And you won't have a poncy knife block cluttering your kitchen.

    • The difference with a good set of knives is night and day. I personally own this set and when they eventually are beyond sharpening, I will probably replace them with the same set. I bought mine for $224 on special a few years back though, and I would be hesitant to label this a "deal" based on that.

  • True that the rrp is bull, but this is still a good deal for a good set.

I bought the Wusthof 8 piece knife block from these guys. It came very quickly and it was packaged really well. The set I bought was the cheapest I could find after a fair bit of searching. I will be buying from these guys again.

  • Very decent knife, I bought a set back few years ago with similar price.
    Highly recommend it!

  • so tempted to buy!!

bought one last time for $305 delivered to sydney. quick delivery even when sent from WA. Much better deal than any local or online store.

I dont understand the neg votes. If you find a better deal show us

The neg was for reasons explained by the neg poster. Read them. The main problem has been fixed though, so the neg should probably be revoked.
