ANZ are again offering 0% Balance Transfer for 9 months (last offer here), this time with an expiry date of 15 January, 2014.

9 months O% Balance transfer applies to both new credit card applications and existing cards. The 9 months is dated from when ANZ processes the balance transfer request. On any outstanding amount at the end of the 9 the balance transfer interest rate reverts to the standard variable interest rate applicable to purchases on your card.

Applies to

  • ANZ First Visa
  • ANZ Low Rate and Low Rate Platinum
  • ANZ Platinum
  • ANZ Rewards and Rewards Platinum
  • ANZ Frequent Flyer and Frequent Flyer Platinum

The only one that doesn't seem to be eligible (again) is ANZ Balance

  • Anyone know in regards to these 'balance' transfers if there is a fee on both ends? E.G If I was to go through with this with a 10k transfer (for example) would my current back charge a % fee then ANZ charge a %?

    • They shouldn't do. The only account that ANZ charges a fee for a balance transfer is the Balance card where there is a fee of 1% of the amount transferred.

Just so you are aware, ANZ has made enormous profits the last 2 years but anyway has laid off a lot of people (redundancies), people with families, children. Not sure, I want to support that kind of bank…

If you're going to look at it like that, think yourself fortunate you don't need to deal with the Qld Govt then, or you'd be in a real pickle.

In reality, there are not too many companies that haven't behaved in the same way. That doesn't justify it however

How dare they put profits ahead of people's feelings!

I bought a $3k lens on my 28 degrees MC.. then signed up to ANZ to get a balance transfer.. I've still got 6 months left and $2k to pay.. nice easy way to get nearly free finance..

    • I did similar with new furniture and had an existing anz card plus 28 degrees.
For an existing card you can do multiple balance transfers. I did 2, 8 weeks apart in the previous promotion round.

  • Too bad their platinum cards aren't that great.

None the less, 9 months is still 9 months.

    • With ANZ Rewards, has anyone got away not charged the rewards fee?

I find ANZ a pain to deal with personally.

I'm with Westpac, Nab, Citibank and Amex and they treat me like a celebrity… ANZ seem to want a lot more from me and everything is an effort even opening a credit card.

Personally I'd go the citibank 0% for 15 months option (citibank platinum CLear).

I was about to sign up my self but they said they would just match any other banks interest rate so I got 1.9% on my platinum card for 15 months.(need a good credit rating to do things like this) and ps this is for any debt / bal transfers being moved to them not for purchases
