Virgin Australia Velocity Credit Card $129/Year - $150 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher

11

Looks like an ok deal if you are planning to fly Virgin as you get $21 extra value from your $129 membership. Previous offers had free flights which were apparently next to impossible to book. I guess they are getting around that with the gift card instead.

Also has fly with a friend discount deals, but looks a bit convoluted.

There's also a 30K points card that involves $6k spend in 3 months for those that want points.

Summary:
- Enjoy 0% p.a. on purchases for up to 6 months
After the period the purchase rate will revert to the ongoing purchase rate.
- Plus 0% p.a. on balance transfers for 6 months
After the period any unpaid balance transfer amount will revert to the cash advance rate.
- Receive a $150 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher
When you when you make a retail purchase within 3 months of card approval.
- Fly together and save
Exclusive reduced flights offer when you and a friend travel together on Virgin Australia domestic Saver fares up to 4 times a year.

  • Change the title. Thought it was the actual frequent flyer card.

  • I've thought long and hard about this card for a while (as I try and ply everything into VA rather than QF points). The $130 is just simply too steep. Either needs a lot more additional value, such as lounge passes, a gift voucher every year etc, or a lower price. $60 mark maybe.

This Fly Together and Save deal is terrible compared to the offer they used to have - half price on any fare. Old offer and new offer are both in the T&Cs (but not for long) http://virginmoney.com.au/downloads/credit-cards/Buy_one_sea…

  • do they deliberately make it confusing?

    Interest on purchases
    0% p.a. for up to 6 months, reverts to 20.74% p.a. thereafter

    Interest-free period
Up to 44 days for Retail Purchases, fees and charges other than Cash Advances, Balance Transfers
    and Special Promotions

there is a difference between purchases and retail purchases yet they don't make it clear and share.
