If you pay more for an 'UltraGrade' HDMI, then you're an ultra fool.

Can't believe after all these years of myth busting, there're still people believe in "Premium grade" of HDMI cable for a premium cost…

Flat cables cost a little more generally (and they're great because they bend more easily) but having said that, as soon as I see a digital cable labeling itself as "ultra grade"…

Would be interest to see if anyone can find a cheaper 2.5m flat hdmi in Australia though. Just searched ebay and you can get them from overseas for less, but not domestically.

Compare: 2m from Selby (who are a great retailer)

There's people out there who actually think this "Premium grade" HDMI cable is worth $299. I mean there's suckers who pay it.

As for me i'm using some $3 HDMI cable that i got from Shopping Square. Working absolutely fine on my Pioneer BDP-160 BD player.

    • I kid you not, I witnessed someone buying a ~$60 HDMI cable at JB.

Looked about in his teens, so being the scumbag I am, I let him unknowingly suffer.

  • actually would be nice if i can find L shaped connectors. the way the sockets are made on my TV forces me to leave a bit more space for the hdmi connecter.

  • These flat cables seem to be sourced from the same company in china. I got a no brand 10m one and the connectors are no joke. They're solid steel (or brass) screwed to each other, doesn't lose connection even if it was sitting at the epicentre of a magnitude 8 earthquake.

That being said, they all perform the same. I just find the build quality on these flat cables better, even better than premium ones I see hifi stores use.

  • I love flat red things.

  • Is this something funky for PS3 only or is it standard HDMI plug?

    • Stock hdmi

  • Its good for use with laptops and removable devices cos those thick ones are only good for permanent setup.
