  • 24th is full too.

    • Still working for me on that date. Most likely people are adding/removing to check prices.

  • the early arrival time is a little confusing, whats the normal check in time?

    • Services
      Check-Out time is 11.00am
      Check-In time is 2.00pm onwards

      • ok so pretty standard, thanks. I shall try this place out!

        wrong!

        check in time is 2pm
        check out time is 11am

if you want to check in earlier than 2pm, you pay $22
if you want to check out later than 11am, you pay $22

by time you stay in this tiny shoe box of a hotel and pay for a towel, tv, wifi, it works out better to stay elsewhere

the one in KL is a tiny shoe box and not even room to put a suitcase. Tune hotel = air asia, stay away.

Lol you fail! That's what was said, just said check out time first.

Really not sure what you expect for $39 a night in Melbourne?…

As for the ones in KL etc - yes the rooms are small, but they are reasonably clean, comfortable and cheap!

As for comparing the other hotels - the OP has included the price of towels… If you need wifi, tv, etc yes you probably should stay somewhere else… These are intended for budget conscious travelers.

I am currently in Indonesia on 2 week trip.. Staying at Tune every night (which I booked during a promo last year… About $0.10 cents a night for the room (air con etc are add ons) and flying AirAsia - no complaints yet!

Haven't stayed at the Melbourne one yet tho.

          For anyone interested -

KLIA LCCT - dodgy hotel but does the job… Just
KL downtown - recently refurbished, MUCH nicer, good location
Kota Bharu - ok but staff are not very helpful
Bali, Legian - really nice feel, good location
Jakarta, Pasar Baru - the best I have stayed in… Nice rooms, very clean and comfortable, staff ok, location pretty good.

        • How did you find the hotel in Jakarta? Was it mostly locals that stayed there and were you the only bule, or was it a nice mixture?

Seems like a good review to me (bias/unbias i dunno). The business makes sense. If you're looking for a budget hotel without the dirtiness and knows that you won't be using the tv etc., it would be worth staying at Tune Hotel. If i'm visiting Melbourne, I know i'll be outside doing stuff rather than sitting in the room watching TV.

    • The writer stayed courtesy of Tune Hotel.

There aren't many bad reviews of hotels/bars/restaurants in The Age/SMH.

  • Jee the rooms look small and basic but I've stayed in smaller in Melbourne and paid a LOT more. Wi Fi access is even fairly priced.

Only catch for some might be that its in Carlton not Melbourne CBD.

    • +1

It's perhaps a 3 minute walk to the CBD.

Wouldn't bother with Wi-Fi. State library & Melbourne Central is nearby. Free wi-fi there or if you have an Eduroam account, Melb Uni / RMIT.

      • Well to be fair if you calculate a walk to the Melbourne GPO its just short of 20mins.

      • soon Melbourne CBD will have free Wi-Fi!! I said……..soon………………..

  • You can pay more for a single private hostel room than this. I hope tune hotels open up in other capitals. Most dodgy hotels charge at least $100 a night. I probably stayed in worse places than this and paid almost triple the price.

  • Lol poor guys who have that Australian 1800 number…

Told me they getting a ton of calls from people looking for Tune hotels lols. Need to dial into Malaysia first if you wanna use that number fyi

    • Huh? It's 1300 888 863 as per the top (well middle) of the page.

      Confirmed by Twitter rep

EDIT: I apologize. Just dialed myself. It's Super Plus. Well, that's stupid of them.

      • OK, they have no phone number at all in Australia. You have to contact them via [email protected] which seems strange.

        • +1

its because they dont open officially until next month

  • btw thanks Neil for checking tho and posting.

I just reported the phone number so everyone else doesnt call those super flex guys like I did haha

I think they will have to change their number

      O.K. So, In short…

I'm v.impressed. It is probably nicer in a lot of way than a Formule1 (wouldn't be hard).

Greeted by Leigh at the desk and they are totally organised. They will try and "upsell" you (nicely) to the add-ons but you don't need them (you can cave-in later and come down to the desk and they will add them if you want).

The room are new, compact (but not tiny) and there is a simple Red/White theme to the rooms. You get a Card to access the room and power on when you enter. You get a TV (that works only upon payment) lol, a small desk (free to use, but not to keep…) A safe under the bed for valuables.

Bed is comfortable, no problems. A quiet modern (new) place to stay in Melbourne.

      No fridge or phone…

      • i stayed there too bro.

funny thing is prices back up to 89$ from Nov 1st :(

i stay there for 3 more days to use $39 deals
