Cheap 1Kw Solar System for WA

71

I'm a little late posting this bargain as it was $0 for the first 200 customers.
Apparently they've hit their 200 quota already as a friend just rang up and was told that they are now charging $199.

However, I think even at $199 its still a great deal. Depending on what your meter cost may be, your power savings should make it up within 1-2 years.

Australian made inverter, 5 year warranty.
25 year warranty on panels, not sure where they're made.

    NOT FOR NSW

    Just rang them.

However, they have a "close-to-FREE" $200 offer on now.

    • Yep, I think I covered all that in the title and description ;)

        Yes, you did. :-)

Just make sure you read the T&Cs. The rebate is income tested: "Household taxable family income must be less than $100,000"

  • Is it for Melbourne>? :)

    • -1

      No.

Western Australian ONLY, the man on the phone told me.

  • where do you find the advert for this special?
And any idea on out of pocket expense for the meters?

    cheers

    • Click on the image to the top right for details.

The meters are $200 for single phase, $650 for 3 phase, billed by Synergy when the job is actually done and added to your power bill.

      • Sorry but I get no details y clicking on the image to the top right for those details!
So for an average house would I need single phase? What's the diff single or 3 phase?
        I'm not a sparkie sorry.

        cheers

I'm going to give it a negative (hope that's not too harsh).
The reason is the website gives almost no information, and drives me insane clicking on all the links (like site map) that don't work or everything else links to the contacts page.
I might be a sceptic but if you can't put up the details of what your 'solution' is, then I can't be bothered wasting my time going any further.
Good luck to those that do.

    • Well, yeh that is a bit harsh, since my deal is for a cheap solar system as per the attached ad, not the quality of their website.

Bamzero, my negative rating is nothing personal or a reflection of how accurately you portray the deal.
My negative is for the deal (well the fact that the vendor releases almost no information about their product ie size of panels, whether or not it can be expanded down the track, certifications etc etc).
The fact that their website wasted my time trying to see if they were worth dealing with is the reason I've marked it downwards, and also because I don't trust vendors that aren't forth coming. Of course it's possible they have a decent product and are just dis-organised about their site. But I think that disorganisation is a bad sign. It appears they think the price is the only significant factor - so I'm steering clear.

  • Any updates? Is it a scam?

  • No it's not a scam. Their website is just a bit crappy. If you call them though, they'll give you all the info you need.

I'm already booked in, just waiting on the government to do the rebate paperwork.

I think you would have wanted to give them a call already, as the ad said it was for this month only.
Give it a try though, never know.

    • I did called them and book for assessment and payment. My friend call up solar unlimited in WA. The competitor said that Austechsolar provide lousy/ crap panel…….. compare to their Suntech solar panel………
      Makes me think again :(

  • i to looked into this offer, i am always wary about limited time offers. But the thing that really put me off is that there is no physical street adress for there place of business. I rang there number and asked the sales person where there office is in Perth. He hummed & ahhed and then said its under construction, couldn't tell me when it would be finished. I asked for the address and his reply was "why do you need to know?". I said because if problems occur i want to be able to physically speak to someone. He claims they have offices in the eastern states. and a workshop for an installer in willeton. I am going to shop around before i commit to anything.

  • Just want people to aware of this…The government has just announced the end of the SHCP rebate.

_To be eligible for assessment under the SHCP guidelines, completed applications must be sent to the Solar Homes and Communities Plan Manager by midnight on Tuesday 9 June 2009. _
