    You're kidding? Right?

Whats the problem? You don't like this particular product so its not a deal?
I don't really like it either, but that's because i have no use for it. I'm sure someone else does however.
      Lighten up a bit…

There's quite a few gamers out there who make some good extra cash uploading their game captures to Youtube. I know one uni student who makes 300-400 bucks a month from people visiting his channel to see his moves.

        • I have a dream of having my own Video Game webshow, this would be great! Sadly, I can barely pass the first few levels in some games and in horror games when the first creature suprise attacks me I call quits…… Oh well :)

        • No need for skills. You sound exactly like Pewdiepie. Do it!

  • Damn it, not even 1 month after buying my Elgato a new product comes along -.- Does this allow you to split the commentary audio or does it auto mix with game audio? And how is it possible that this records PS4 when PS4 will have HDCP on release?

I have an Avermedia live gamer portable and that lets me record live voice commentary. It gets recorded as a separate audio file. I think this should do just the same too. Description says - "Voice Commentary - Simply plug in the microphone and put on the headphone, you can add live commentary when recording the gameplay! Game Capture HD II lets you adjust the voice volume before start recording. It surely saves you from the hassle of post-production". Their website has video tutorials on like EVERYTHING you need to know about it - http://gamerzone.avermedia.com/game_capture/game_capture_hd_….

I think the PS4 won't have capture capability from release day. I read somewhere that they were going to release that function as an update. And apparently the built in recording feature will be limited or something like that as well. Lets you only record a set time limit and there were some forums claiming these gamplay captured via the console is considered copyright material and cannot be uploaded to youtube. I am not sure if these are facts or just speculation.

No USB device (to PC) support?

How do you use this with ustream.tv ???

    • Damn, looks like it can't record PC gameplay or live stream with this. I have the Avermedia live gamer portable and that came with some live stream software trial and a free month pass on TwtichTV. And on this product page it doesn't mention anything about PC capture or live stream where as if you check the Avermedia live gamer portable product description they have clearly mentioned these capabilities under specifications. So I would assume this is only for consoles.
Description above also says "Game Capture HD II is the best ConsoleMate that helps you collect and share in-game scenes". Nothing on PC or live stream.

      • Pretty sure this doesn't live stream straight off the box. They have a separate product for that. There's a way but its very technical. Looks at the review now.

  • Maybe of interest, but:

    1) Like other products, it's going to need the PS3 connected via component (not hdmi)?
    2) What file format does it save in, what is the maximum size hard drive - 2tb?, and what connection options do you have to put it on a computer afterwards - lan only / remove the hdd and install into a pc?
    3) Does it save 5.1 sound because that's not standard. Some only save two channel.

  • 9.5mm HDD, so maximum size is 1.5TB at the moment.

    • Nah you can get around that with an extension cable.
