  • Which store?

    Which version?
    - The newer version(s) has IR support for TVs

  • Keep in mind that apparently these WON'T work with the PS4. So I'd reconsider if you're getting it for that purpose.

    • For sure the PS4 remote will probably cost $50+.

  • if this is hte IR one, it doesn't have a Guide button. painful. Would not recommend

    • What does the guide button do?

    • It depends what you want it for. The new one allows you to control TV volume directly via IR which for me is of more value than the guide button.

      • For anyone with a Sony TV, the volume button on the newer PS3 remote is worth it.

    • It does have a guide button Leeroys Dad. It is the button next to the program info button. The difference between this remote and the original is that you scroll up once and hit OK where it says 'guide'.

      1. press button
      2. click up to guide
      3. hit OK

      to resume hit return twice.

      • no no - if you are on a channel 7 you need to scroll all the way to the top…. it is very painful

Maybe get Leeroy to show you. You can bring up the guide (as per above) no matter what channel you are on. Second button from the left (above the playstation triangle) with the words 'top menu' written above it. Click it once and you will see the guide, scroll up and hit Ok. Voila. Hope this helps, unless your second name is Jenkins.

        • Maybe we are talking different remotes? I am referring to the one that includes TV control via ir

        • Yes we may well be talking about different remotes. The one I'm referring to, which has often come up for sale here on OzB, such as here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85794. It looks like this Leeroys Dad http://img3.targetimg3.com/wcsstore/TargetSAS//img/p/10/51/1…

Is this the one you are also referring to?

Also works with XBMC, though I can't think of anything worse than a laggy Bluetooth remote.

    • really? I was going to get this for my HTPC, thinking BT an advantage over line-of-sight IR.

Hang on - I never noticed a problem with a bluetooth keyboard or mouse. Why should this be different?
You mean a delay when you have not used it for a while, and it drops the connection to save battery?

      • Yeah battery saving. Check the XBMC forums.

  • This is the old one, the new one is $24.95
