Wow! You're offering free advertising? Kind of like what you're doing now through OzBargain! That's mindblowing!

    /sarcasm

  • No thanks!

  • nothing in the site anyways

  • "The website will potentially be viewed by thousands"…
    ie currently gets no hits

"anywhere between 1 and 28 days of free advertising"…
so they can pull your "free ad" at any time. If youre lucky it will stay up for 28 days, or maybe just 1 day.

  • Hello Everyone,

GreenGuava, yes we are offering free advertising for a limited time, but not the kind of that is offered by OzBargain. There are few main differences between the two sites:
    - we offer free advertising only for limited time where OzBargain is always free
    - only business can add their special deals on StimulusDeals.com.au where on OzBargain anyone can
    - we target specific audience which is the current stimulus spending that the government is encouraging, where OzBargain has all kind of specials
You may ask yourself why would any business advertise on StimulusDeals.com.au if they can do it here anytime for free. I don’t see a reason why not. Businesses should take advantage of any free advertising, if they see it to be fit for purpose. Once our add-a-deal for free offer expires it will be up to the business to choose whether to add further deals based on their experience with us.

yound_dazza, we will not “pull” anyone’s ads off. Deals on StimulusDeals.com.au have an expiry date which is set by the business that is adding a deal. Businesses can have their deal up for only one day (eg the special is only valid for today) or they can set the expiry date to 28 days (eg the special is on for 4 weeks). All the deals that are added during the free period will stay on for as long as the business has chosen.

blitz, considering that you have provided negative feedback implies that there might be something wrong with posting ‘advertising’ deals here. We have checked the rules and guidelines set by OzBargain and could not find anything that prohibits this kind of deals. If we have missed something please point us to the page that contains the rule/guideline and we will look at it immediately. In terms of whether this deal fits here:
    - Is it Oz? StimulusDeals.com.au is for Australian businesses to advertise their special deals to attract and keep as much of the stimulus package spending in Australia, so yes.
    - Is it Bargain? It is currently free where later businesses will need to pay small fee, so yes.

swimmingtoad and young_dazza, you have made a valid observation. We have only launched the site this week and are not getting enormous traffic. But with more and more Australians receiving their stimulus packages by the day, that is surely about to change.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and we hope we were able to make things clearer.

we offer free advertising only for limited time where OzBargain is always free

No. OzBargain DOES NOT offer free advertising. OzBargain is for the consumers/shoppers, and if merchants only come here for advertising without good offers, they can go away because we don't want them.

only business can add their special deals on StimulusDeals.com.au where on OzBargain anyone can

Again, that's because OzBargain is for the consumers. I have no idea what your website does, but posting your "business-oriented" website in consumer-focused OzBargain is surely a quick way to ask for negative votes.

we target specific audience which is the current stimulus spending that the government is encouraging, where OzBargain has all kind of specials

I don't even get the stimulus package, you insensitive clod!

  • And don't worry, 80% of people in Australia haven't yet received a cheque nor money in their account.

The ATO is SECRETLY pushing cheques to selected postcodes, 2 per day & is not telling anyone in advance (although obviously they, and ATO computers, know full well which postcodes will get it):

    • Nice site! It should probably go here for discussions in the forums, since this page is pretty much dead…
