How much are the adult tickets originally?
I thought the day tickets were always $79?
Spirit is a rip anyway, even @ $79, it's still another $89 for the car, then there is food, petrol etc… it's so much quicker, cheaper and easier to just fly
And pay 1000's $ for the weight surcharge, for all the frozen salmon you're taking home.
Free extra baggage allowance for frequent flyers FTW — Gold/Platinum QFF (2 x 32kg = 64kg), Platinum VFF (3 x 23kg = 69kg). I nearly used my allowance up last time I visited Tasmania. :)
Too small a market. Lack competition from high speed catamarans.
Don't forget to calculate Airport parking (or Taxi) and a rental car in Tasmania …
To actually answer your question, I think ocean recliner seats start at $84, shared cabins a little over $100.
Agreed. Can't bear to spend all that time on an ageing ship (with 80's decor) with no shortage of screaming kids around. Car rental prices in Tasmania aren't too bad compared to the mainland (I honestly expected them to be a much bigger price gouge).
unless your traveling tassie for a number of weeks, just get a PLANE and rent a car.
get a plane? how much would that cost?
747-400 for US$240,000,000
though I'd pay the extra $26,500,000 and get the Boeing 747 400ER- easier to get parts for.

though personally I would go for this for $52,000,000…

Ten year old 747-400s are trading at record lows currently, since many fleets are getting rid of them in favour of more fuel efficient aircraft (like the A380 and 777-300ER). Can get one for about $36 million. :)
But how much extra is postage?
@manic Only need to pay for fuel and taxes if your house has a runway like John Travolta: http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/03_03/travoltapilotREX…
Been there done that, It's a RIP off by a government granted Monopoly. Wonder there's anything in it for ME
DO NOT travel on the spirit unless you absolutely need to take your caravan. For cars it is way cheaper easier to hire a car from the airport and return it on the same place.
Quicker, cheaper, easier, > Take a flight
a RIP off by a government granted Monopoly. Wonder there's anything in it for ME
Eddie Obeid would know all about that…
And if you can't fly? There are plenty of us.
Go on a plane, mortal.
Kids $5 - cheapest babysitting ever.
