Depends what you want - 4.3" screen or 3.8" screen. If you want a small phone, the 620 is as good as it gets. The 720 is pretty significantly bigger.
Wait for few more weeks … Google Phone Nexus 4 will touch this mark :)

I think Microsoft bought it out to cement their smart-mobile position. Don't think they can compete IMO as they seem to offer so much less than Apple OS or Android IMO, so probably we just lost Nokia's innovation and competitiveness in the deal. That's my take on the subject anyway.

not sure i'd get the voda branded 720…when I was researching I preferred the 620 as it has a full version of nokia drive, which the 720 does not (only for the one country).
Although in saying that it was for sale for about $169 via Kogan a while back and I hesitated and it sold out. It's been replaced by the 625.
I just bought a Lumia 720 today at Vodafone Sydney Westfield. It's $199 and not lock at all.

Yup just got 2x Nokia Lumia 720 from vodafone at $199/each and not locked. Put in my telstra sim and works fine !
