Many of us knew this years ago, I don't know why it took the papers so long to report it, people used to say I was lying when I told them prices are all marked up online.

      • +2

        Same with me.

I was one of the first to report it, and you wouldn't believe the amount of people who said I was wrong.

      • +1

We've even had a rep from Coles post about it right here on OzBargain. This has never been a secret.

        • 2011 is very recent…

I was pointing this out in early 2010 and nobody knew about it then.

lol, super expensive buying online on woolworth…

chobani yogurt has promotion, buy 10 = $10, but buying online charge me 10 for $14.90
lol, 50% more expensive then in store…

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/111647

also, if you go to woolworth, they only put a sticker 4 for 6, but actually you can get 10 for $10. they just don't advertise it.

    offer end mid september

    • +4

That's a little disappointing because chobani yoghurt is the only thing that Woolworths sell online.

You should be comparing it to other online grocery stores. Not in-store Woolies. You're comparing apples to oranges…

    • I wouldn't be ordering any non essential dairy from the online shop (too many horror stories) but this is still a considerable saving for a savvy shopper

  • i've never ordered online before. How do they deliver. Is there a delivery timeslot.

if not what happens if i am not home at that time to receive delivery or do they leave them at your door.

could someone who does order online please elaborate. Thanks.

    • +1

You can select a certain time window, usually of three hours, and they deliver within that time. There are timeslots before and after business hours, but if you're not there they can't leave the groceries unattended.

    • Woolies 'strongly recommend' that someone is at home to receive the delivery but when you do the online order you can give permission to deliver if you aren't home, you just have to advise in the delivery instructions a safe place where they can leave it. Of course if your shopping then goes missing they won't take any responsibility for that.

  • Much better is this code TWENTY4ME813 that will give you $20 off for orders over $100. Ends on Monday!

    • +2

that code only works if they email it to you.

      • That's a shame… They keep sending me these codes, but yet to use one!

    • Code is not recognized for me :(

    • Yeah same code I got today and the 5 free deliveries.

Damn wish I saw this post earlier, Nature's Way multivitamins are on special (50% off), ends midnight tonight. The discounted prices are much cheaper than Chemist Warehouse, bought some krill oils and glucosamines for hubby this morning before seeing this post :(

  • Can I still use my everyday reward card for online shopping? I need fuel offer as well.

    • Yes, enter your EDR card # when registering.

    • +1

and you can also pay by gifts cards (which means a further 5% off if you get them thru RACx / Ent Book etc!)

If anyone ordered more than one 92cent Cadbury bar you will most likely have been over charged until they fix the error.

If you add one bar it comes up as 92cents with "promo" underneath saying 2 for $3. Therefore if you add a second chocolate bar it will bring it to $3 ($1.50 each) rather than the 92cents. Every bar you order in addition to that will be charged at $1.50. If that makes sense?

Anyway I called for the refund of the difference as I only noticed afterwards, even it wasn't much I still don't like companies making mistakes. I presume Supermarkets Scanning Code of Practice does not apply as they do not scan the products online lol.

    • Did you get a full refund for the items, or only for the difference?
Do they still have the scanning policy if they overcharge you, you get it free?

      • The guy on the phone just said he would refund the difference, but cannot provide any confirmation via email etc but has put notes on my order. I do not think the scanning policy applies because they are not scanning the item. If it does apply you could order heaps of them lol.

I did request they fix the site too, i'm wondering how many days the error has been present as some people don't think to check their rceipt.

    • *note, now that it's Wednesday this issue will not happen for new orders (since special finished Tues for 92cents)

  • I buy online only when the item is on sale. So I pay $1 dollars for 1 box of milk….and I purchase in bulk as they offer free shipping.

  • Sounds good until you realize that the online prices are much higher than they are in store. Kettle chips are $4.50 online vs. $4.19 in store - over 7% more expensive. A 4-pack of Gatorade is $8.59 online vs. $7.99 in store. So even with the 5% discount, it's still cheaper to buy it at the shop. Thanks, but no thanks.

    • That's why these offers are useful for the weekly specials which are the same price in store as they are online. Some people would be able to find just over $30 of catalogue specials and the everyday rewards specials to make the effort of signing up to online deliveries worthwhile. Of course you have to organise to be home to get the delivery or find a click and collect location(provided this 5% deal works with click and collect).

  • I just purchased $100 worth, and used the $20 off and free delivery. Actual savings was over $60 on the items alone. You just pick the online specials, it isn't hard. If they aren't on special this week, they will be next rotation or the one after!

      What did you buy ?

      • Me too. I bought quite a few things including the Moro oil even though it's not as pure. Stocked up on Swisse multivitamins, vitamin d, blackmores fish oil. Some Berri 2.4L juices for parties in the future and a few bits and pieces.

A lot of the vitamins are heaps cheaper than Chemist Warehouse and other discount chemists are offering even at their sale price. I'm really surprised people don't shop around properly.

Saved on petrol, time and get 5% off and free delivery. Huge saving! Thanks OP!!!

  • Order 3x24pack =$30, shweppes ranges. No worry to carry. They delivery

  • nice, does it work for all ?

  • +1

Tried to use both FREEFRENZY & 5FRENZY and it says they expired on 20 Aug 2013. Do they still work for anyone else?

  • none of the codes work, what a waste of 20 mins!

  • Just ordered my third delivery online. Usually ok, but today arrived with no dairy, no deli, no fruit and vegetables and no biscuits and snacks. Missing over $80 of produce that I now have to get redelivered.
Thanks for nothing woolworths! Rang up customer service and they really didn't care just said they would redeliver what didn't arrive tomorrow. So now I get to stay home tomorrow. Yay me! Anyone know of any take away deals because dinner is ruined!
