  • Good specs, but I don't "get" this model. I have one myself. It's unnecessarily heavy (no, it's not 2.1kg as advertised; mine is more like 2.4kg), the screen bevel is 2cm on the sides, and 3cm top and bottom, so would have left plenty of space for a decent size screen instead of the 14".

But this is a good deal, especially with the SSD.

EDIT: the SSD is a hybrid, NOT 500 GB of pure SSD.

    • I think they use the same chassis 15" and 14". Very reliable hardware. but surprised to see no headphone jack and usb3 on professional series laptop.

      • Mine has a headphone jack, but no microphone jack. Yep, no USB3. Bit silly indeed.
For info, I did not choose mine, it's a work one. I would not have picked it.

        • It has 2x USB3 nd 2x USB2 unless I'm mistaken?

        • I am writing this on an E6430 with USB3.

        • Great, ours at office might be different E64 as they did not have USB3 and yes, I wanted to say the missing microphone jack.
You have to use the USB headphone.

  • Good deal for a Latitude. Had a few Latitudes in my previous job and they are quite well build.

    Internal 56K Modem

Very hard to find laptops with this essential feature. Great deal. ;-)

    • My last Latitude even came with COM port… Those business machines are meant for maximum compatibility so you probably won't find the flashiest tech on them, but they are generally very reliable and very serviceable.

      • +1

What? This Latitude has no COM ports? How am I supposed to connect my serial mouse?

  • IMO, the reason to get a Latitude is the docking capability. Something I refuse to do without.

If you don't want to dock, you can probably find better value in a Vostro.

  • Guys/Girls What do you think about this one? worth the extra money?
Went to JB, I really liked it, it was thin & sexy.

    Does this HP laptop overheat?
I need a new laptop for editing HD video.

    • For your usage (HD Editing) I would advise not to go with this machine due the low display resolution.

In regards to your other question, yes it does overheat pretty badly.

    • the poor resolution of display makes the deal down. Also I cannot hit the point of using touch screen on a laptop. A tablet can be an alternative.

  • I like how they include a 56k modem.

  • Good luck to all those who ever need service on their pc.
