What is RED VELVET? Velvet is a material, not a flavour.

How big are these cakes, what do they weigh etc?

      • +1

        weight of a cake seriously

Yes seriously, a 1 kg cake is better value than a 100g cake…

  • +1

I looked at your page and it just looks like someones home kitchen with cakes that are half made. I don't see adequate information anywhere. Seriously its not well laid out for people to understand what you are actually selling, how much things cost etc. Do people really need to contact you to find out everything?

Cupcakes central or the cupcake bakery never spoke back to me or any of its customers in this manner. OR EVEN SOOK about how hard to make it in a SMALL COUNTRY TOWN .Very unprofessional!

going to get a dozen from them now. you clearly know nothing about business.

my resource = built and run businesses for years.

        Keep calm…
People are just testing you out a tiny bit. They are actually helping because they are getting you to add important info to your deal. If you have a pleasant and consistent attitude, it will go fine.
You gotta play it cool on the internets and here too on Ozbargain.
If you stick your bottom lip out and crack it poor-me style, people will just go you. Stupid maybe but that's life. Just smile and answer peoples questions, all will be well. :)

Wanna know how to do it?
Look at the early posts of Flingshot when he set his company up. Answered the stupidest and most cynical questions in a positive manner. Never whinged. Doing great now. Search back and you will see,

      • +5

Wow, I understand OzBargainers being a hard crowd to please, you almost have to serve free food on a silver platter without them whinging. (Freebies not being delivered = negfest)
Except one thing, they are your customer base and someone who loses their temper over a few questions is not a person anyone would want to do business with.
Learn to take the crap, or just stay silent until you are ready to address them.
The comments made were to help you identify missing information, not to crush your company..

      • Mate if you cant respect your customers, you should not do business.. Work on it or u'll be out of business quicker than u'd expect..

Even potential customers are your customers…

I think you should shut shop now. You're not ready to succeed … yet. Your work is lovely but you need to know more so you don't get into trouble or make someone ill.

The requirements for the sale of food are stringent. I can see from your facebook photos that you have not been inspected by an Environmental Health Officer and do not have Food Act Registration.

Go to your local council and enquire about setting up a home food manufacturing business. You are not currently registered for GST, so get that changed when you have yourself set up to succeed. Good Luck.

The poor customer service and nasty attitude doesn't stop at this website.
Check out this facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/shortiesbakery/posts/20495944300034…

Gee thanks for the support. It's an incorrect add that was placed up and is still being fixed. But due to the how lovely you have been I would appreciate you never contacting me again.

What a great way to advertise on the front page of your company website!

OP: Your work looks great, but get an idea on how to talk to potential customers before you lose a lot of money.

      Oh my, it's getting embarrassing.

  • This thread is starting to remind me of Amy's Baking Company…

Spelling and grammar needs an improvement too, makes you appear unprofessional.

  • No need to get all defensive rep. If you can't take criticism, then you're not ready for the internet.
