This is dishonest, you know there is a price drop.

This could easily be new stock that you are making a $200 profit on top of your normal profit. Even if its not its still not there is no bargain here as most people can wait 1-2 weeks

    NewEgg Power Colour 7970: $335
    Umart Power Colour 7970: $369

    NewEgg 7990: $699
My estimate for Umart 7990: $760

Therefore this is very overpriced if you are willing to wait 1-2 weeks.

Not quite twice as fast as this 7970 for only $369:

    See benchmarks:

    • What's the power consumption like? Could be better to just xfire two 7970s then.

Ban them! This is an outrage.

PcCaseGear also has it for $899 but for Gigabyte

Actually, looking around, it seems all of the 7990's are $899

Wtf is up with all the backlash? Ok, sure, it might not be a fantastic bargain if better prices are on the way, but it's still the cheapest price on staticice atm, and even the Anandtech article mentioned that the HIS model was $749 US, which with our exchange rate it's already $820, plus extra for getting it here. The typical pre-discount price here was $1100, and AMD have announced a $200 discount so ~$900 sounds pretty much right to me.

Does this really deserve "dishonest", "bloody disgrace", and "ban them"??

      Pre-discount price - $1100
      AMD price drop - $200
      New standard price ~$900

So how does $899 sound pretty much the right price for a BARGAIN?

I never said it was a bargain, but since when do we suggest that just because it's not a bargain that somehow the store is deceitful, a bloody disgrace and should be banned?

        • Because they would know that the price drop is happening or has already happened, they could have said something.

        • Because they're claiming it's a bargain.

  • More info on the price drop via Techspot

  • everytime there is a price drop some retailer will come out an offer like this

  • Shouldn't AMD be up to the 8000 series by now? They're always one number ahead of nVidia on the first digit in this arms race.

  • CPL also has HD7990 for $899 every day price but as the Gigabyte card. So this is not the cheapest on staticice at the moment as the Gigabyte HD7990 is the same price so it's a tie. Going by the photos this HIS card here and the Gigabyte are both reference HD7990 card. Basically absolutely no difference between them.

    http://www.cplonline.com.au/graphics-cards/workstation-graph…

Basically the HD7990 has dropped down to $899 price level and Scorptec is claiming it as a $250 off limited time sale which is a bit deceptive because $899 is the normal every day price now. After this sale ends i bet the price will stay at $899 so you're basically paying the normal price here now. It's not a bargain price. Then again PCCG is doing the same $899 with $250 off sale trick. They're not telling you that $899 is the standard price now after the price drop.
