I know this isn't the best place to ask, but is it worth waiting for the new iMacs with the new Intel processors, or will the performance boosts for a desktop computer like this be minimal?

I get waiting for the new processors in the laptops given the improved power efficiency, but real world - big difference at the desktop level?

  You won't get much, if any CPU performance boost, but you will get much better battery life and improved graphics, depending on the chipset. Supposedly, rumours exist of boosted graphics for MBPs with upcoming haswells: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1614807

  Haswell's impact on the iMac is likely going to be pretty minimal, since its big gains are in efficiency and integrated graphics neither of which are going to impact the iMac. Expect modest improvments.
  
  802.11ac would probably be a biggest feature of the new iMac over any sort of performance bump.

  If you want to wait, wait because while the bump may be minimal you may be able to snap up a clearance bargain of the older stock.

New dicksmith opened in Westfield Sydney Myer food court. They had 10% off plus free office for all Macs. They opened last Thursday not sure if grand opening sale is still on.
