50% OFF Promotion. Regular Price: $89.95 *

I think this product is a good alternative to the sold out Sheffield Air Fryer $49.95. Not as much reviews, but $5 cheaper and does the job I guess. NOTE the difference in capacity. 9L (sheffield) vs 2.4L (eurolab) Pot size.

Haha I was just going to post something along the same lines. They are having some damn good deals the last couple of weeks though!

      • Haha yeah i bought some things but shame noone summed everything up in one post for todays deals. But no harm done :-)

  • Sorry, but no, enough pain for my credit card

  • I noticed this as well and bought one.

Sure the reviews are mixed (it seems similar to some Aldi/Breville products so more comments there) but at that price I'm happy to try it. If I'm happy with the concept I'll buy a better one as/when it dies….

BTW - I've no plan to use it for chips, more like breaded items you might otherwise do in the oven (too dry) or fry (too oily). Maybe this might be a happy medium but who knows?

    • I also had been researching the unit when this post went up. Found a review of the Breville, which looks identical

      http://besthalogencooker.com/uk-halogen-cooker-reviews/breviā€¦

I have no experience with any halogen based ovens/fryers but I've bought 2 tonight, this one and the $19 delivered on (for someone else and myself). From the reviews there are heaps of people that love them, and say they work great. Also Peter Howard appears to be flogging one on YouTube, I am not someone who keeps track of celebrity cooks but someone may know him, I was given his bbq book and it's seems ok but I haven't used it much.

      • Thanks Jackson, good find. I didn't expect one that's exactly identical out there. Its just sticking the brand label on it. I bought one for myself. Lets see how it goes =D The comments are quite OK as well, given the price is 1/4 of a Tefal actifry.

        • I bought one for my mum, she has been asking me to buy her a deep fryer for years and I've refused as she's already too overweight and unhealthy (cholesterol is high), hopefully her desire for fried food means that she is motivated to learn how to use it.

Does anyone know how to use these properly? Are they mostly meant for making potato chips?

I bought the Aldi's one but sadly returned it. Really wanted it to work out, but just couldn't figure it out. I tried it out on different sized cuts of sweet potatoes, beetroots and parsnips, with varying amounts of oil. Tried different timings and watched it pretty closely each time. But no matter what, I ended up with either soggy chips or ones that were and burnt and dry on the outside but raw and soggy on the inside. All pretty tasteless and I would have been better off eating the food raw.

Admittedly I never tried it on actual potatoes though, since potatoes are pretty high starch.

    • Cooking from raw potato! Yeah, i have the same problem, even frying with oil. I guess, you could search online and see how many actually make them. I normally buy those frozen 'french fries', so they are pre-fried i guess. I plan to use this eurolab fryer for those packaged fries. But i guess, we can be creative =D Fried chicken anyone???
