I got an email from them saying they'd run out of samples. Unless they're gotten more, it's highly doubtful you'll receive one.

Doubt they will honour this deal.I got one last time fine and I signed up not long before the site was removed. Perhaps they are rejecting those that do not have a previous history with the company or entered false details.
This link was just advertised in the latest issue of a magazine, if you are a diabetic I would sign up… If you just want a meter because "it is free" leave it.

I agree with you, if you want one because it's free* better leave it, cause… it's not free, you have to pay for expensive strips to make it work ;)
never received mine! just got the apologetic email too! They should stop the offer if they don't have stock, or if they got new stock, they should honour the rest of us first before taking new orders.

I would say unless they check existing customer records it is an honour system.
let's not play with words(your's wasn't just a simple question but a complex question and the first part was false as your assumption was wrong) ;) The fact remains that (at least in my case) they got an eligible order with all my details and they refused to honour it due to lack of stock and a few weeks after it appears they got stock(new?) but they will only give it to "new" applications.
Also they have no clue who is really diabetic, and they can not check any history cause there is hundreds "new" diabetics every day who probably need the meter more than the "old" diabetics who already have one!
FWIW, I am diabetic and I ordered one in the last offer. Took several weeks to be delivered.
It did NOT come with any sample strips though, so you only get the meter and have to go buy strips in order to test it out.
Waste of time IMHO. Other brands give a sample of 10 strips so you can at least try the meter out.
I thought all diabetics got the machine free anyway. If you are diabetic i suggest you register for the NDSS (national
Diabetics scheme).The strips will be subsidised dramatically as it can be extremely expensive.
Of course you will need to prove that you are with a docs note

It is still a free meter regardless of the need to purchase strips, if you just purchase the strips it wont work without the meter ;)
i use accu-chek mobile and got mine for free, even an extra $1 back. bought from chemist warehouse during the cash back promo. :P
