Why even pay $35 when you can do the basic tax return for free using eTax.
Give me one good reason to use your service.

    Reason to use eTax:
-No sharing of personal and sensitive information
    -No sharing of Bank details
-Faster and direct credit of tax return to your bank a/c

And many more benefits for using eTax software.

Etax is more complicated to use and you are unable to get professional advice.

I was a professional tax consultant for >3 years at a big4, etax is more than fine for your basic tax return, and incredibly easy to use. It will step you through everything you need to be aware of

If you have any questions, just refer to the ato website, it's useful, easy to access/understand, and has a wealth of knowledge

Sole trader with business name registered 27th June and no GST registration - that's ok but I would do some research first!

    • Yes, we have set up a new business.

One benefit of using a tax agent is that if you happen to pay more tax for the financial year, you will not have to pay it till the next May. That is if your Tax Payable X Current Interest Rate is more than your tax agent fee.

      *net tax agent fee

you can claim a deduction for tax agent fees in the following year return

      • And you get most of it back, saving you the headache of having to organise things yourself. I used etax.com.au last year, and did everything, even communicated with their accountants and got back $1,200. Told them I didn't want to go ahead. Used governments e-tax facility and got back $1,430. Went to an accountant in Ryde and got $1,759. I think it totally justifies the $130 fee and got more back, than the automated systems. I was amazed and never using etax again. Totally not worth it when you need every dollar you earn. I'm sticking with the accountant.

        • If i was you i would keep going back Etax and your account! Getting multiple refunds.

  • There is also a $25 deduction from the tax refund? Admin fee
