S$40 (A$34) Voucher for Singapore Airlines Customers Transit Via Changi Extended Til 31/03/14

560

Similar to the deal last time but now extended until the end of the year. Valid for Singapore Airlines customers excluding codeshare passengers.

Now restricted to travelling from 16 countries (including Australia), so if you are going elsewhere you must claim on your outbound leg. Singapore must not be your starting or final destination. Because of the fall of the Aussie dollar, the deal is now worth ~$4 more than a few months ago :P

The place to claim is now at the "iShop online booth" as opposed to the information counter. Similar terms and conditions as before, vouchers are stackable.

Terms & Conditions
1. Only effective for tickets issued on 01 October 2012 – 31 December 2013, both dates inclusive.
2. Only effective for transit passengers whose departure date from point of origin is between 01 January 2013 and 31 December 2013, both dates inclusive.
3. S$40 Changi Dollar Vouchers are valid from date of issue to 31 March 2014.
4. A S$40 Changi Dollar Voucher may only be claimed once for each ticket issued, either on the outgoing or the return leg of the itinerary.
5. Multiple vouchers may be used for payment.
6. Vouchers may not be used with ongoing in-store promotions.
7. Vouchers can be used in conjunction with Singapore Airlines Boarding Pass Privileges.

PS. Can't update the previous deal so I thought I should post this separately.

Transited last time but they ran out of voucher, gave them my details but no follow up after

  • I was in Changhi Airport last friday. Went to Duty Free shopping. Bought some stuff. Then saw someone else walking in with the $40 voucher. Felt like a chump

  • Nice find…will be @ Changhi Airport next month.
Any idea apart from food what else can be purchased @ this Airport under 40 SGD?

    • Whatever you can find in the extensive category range of shops ;)

Changi is awesome to transit through

    • They had a lot of GoPro gear there. They're all pretty much RRP but if you consider the -40SGD then it's cheap.

You could also use the credit towards lounge access. So you can shower and clean up. I think it was something like SGD$36 to get access to the showers, lounge and internet access. Which incidentally was free throughout the airport anyway (wireless internet access).

My Mrs wanted me to buy some fancy pants cosmetic product which cost SGD547 at Changi Airport. But it actually cost less at the Melbourne Duty free on the way back.

I was in transit there in early March… Your results may vary…

      • If you just want to use the shower it's about $10. A free alternative to the lounge is the 2nd floor in terminal 3 behind the food court. Wifi is free throughout the terminal now :P

    • the vegetarian indian restaurant in terminal 2 is awesome. fantastic food. yum-o-yum

  • Can you get this if flying scoot?

  • Can you get this if flying scoot?

  • I will make use of this in November! any purchase ideas to get right on the $40 mark?

    • I got some adidas stuff that is around $40. There's also the Apple store if you want to pick up some accessories. The vouchers come in 2x$20 so you can spend them at different stores.

  • I'm traveling from South Korea to Australia, and back to South Korea in July/August. It says; "Singapore Airlines and SilkAir customers travelling from", because South Korea is not on the list, but Australia is my destination, will I still be eligible? My e-ticket starts with 618.

Got mine a few weeks ago. Free money for doing nothing. Singaporeduty free is not the cheapest place around but the free money makes it better. After spending the free SGD$40, you can go and play the millionaire draw (spend over SGD$30 to be eligible). Not bad to while away a few hours at Changi.

    1. A S$40 Changi Dollar Voucher may only be claimed once for each ticket issued, either on the outgoing or the return leg of the itinerary.

Does this mean on my return ticket, I can only claim a voucher per person in one direction?

If not, and I can get 2 each way. $140 total is pretty good to spend on the way back through.

    • On a single booking, whether it's a one way or return ticket, you can only claim once ;) That claim can be made on either leg of the itinerary, provided that the country you are travelling from is one of the sixteen listed.

      • South Korea to Australia, and back to South Korea. Am I eligible? Technically, I'm traveling from Australia on the way back :P. Does this mean I can only claim it on the return?

It looks like you have to claim on the return leg. I don't see why you wouldn't be eligible. Worth trying on the first leg anyway.

Yep, I think so too! I'll definitely try, because I have a 6 hour layover on the way to Australia! Cheers!

I was at Changi last Week and have been told by airport representative that this offer is only valid for Singapore resident only But i still insisted on filling the forms to claim $40.

    • no it is a lie.

    • Yeah it's a lie. I'm not a resident and I didn't have to fill up forms.

  • Im bit confused, do you have to transit both ways through Singapore? I'm on a rtw trip.

I don't think it matters. Last time I travelled on a single redemption ticket I got the vouchers :)

  • Great

  • Used this early this month en route to Europe on additional travel chargers.

Nice touch by the Singapore govt.

  • This worked just fine last night. Made for a nice little discount!
