  The only down-side is Intel 4000 IGP… still pretty sub-par performance in gaming even if it's a big improvement on previous Intel IGPs

    Ha. Isn't that for all the Intel IGP? :) I remember when Ivy Bridge came out HD4000 was supposed to be the hot selling point as it's quite a bit faster than HD3000. But we can only now claim it to be sub-par because Haswell just got released.

    For business or development work though, HD4000 is most definitely good enough. For gaming, especially in native resolution, it's not that capable.

    That depends entirely on the type of games you play. Personally, the HD4000 in my Macbook Pro 13 works just fine for me for WoW, Starcraft and Telltale games and indie games at 1280x800 on low-medium settings.

    One thing to note: I had the XPS 14 (which I returned because of the horrendous screen) is that there isn't much different at all in performance between the i5 and i7, but if the XPS 13 is anything like the 14, it'll sound like a miniature jet is starting up on your desk once you start taxing the CPU.

  I can confirm it's a good quality laptop, last time I was amazed by how fast it booted up into windows 8. Also it's very light weighted.
