    That's better! 13.3" 1920x1080.

the design and build quality are so good, but I'll wait for haswell to come out

    • +2

Yep the improvement in graphics will be well worth the wait, especially on a Full HD display.

    • Any reason to wait for haswell update if not watching a lot of movies?

      • +1

Ivy will be sufficient for full HD movies, its light gaming and graphics/video editing where Haswell will have the edge. (Its also faster in general as well)

      • +2

Battery life is said to be improved 50%

    • re: resolution - Not in 2013 (look at the ppi of Nexus 10, new iPad, new gen phones)

Those refurb units are actually XPS 12 convertables, which are actually quite good value.

      • Yeah, I've got a refurb xps12. It's great. Also you get 256gb and i7 at about $1050.

"1920x1080… doesn't that seem too much for a 13.3" screen?"

      ^ lol noob

    • So Full HD on a 5" (think Galaxy S4, HTC One, Xperia Z) is just absolutely ridiculous then?

daaw another deal i like that i cant afford

These have been cheaper from the DFO

Nice specs. However, to paraphrase Taylor Swift:
I.. will never, ever, ever.. buy another Dell computer!

    • why?

I think he just likes Taylor Swift

Should I buy this ultra book or should I go for the macbook air 13" thanks waiting for your reply

    • +2

It's a bit like comparing oranges & apples (pun fully intended :-) they are both fruit and hardware wise roughly equivalent so do you want/need Microsoft Windows or Apple OS X? If you don't know then you may be better off with OS X.

      • +2

Thanks for the prompt reply Samuel - I have never used Apple OS X before - Is it difficult to move from windows to apple?

        • +2

Nope, but unless you want OSX for a specific reason personally i'd stick with Windows. For example: I had a Air 11" when i went traveling and it was amazing for its size, and i liked how the software worked with my camera and music.
EDIT: lol at the negative for my opinion.

        • -3

Yes it's like moving from something that is functional and useful to something that you will need to go back to thinking like a 3 year old to use. If you have an IQ > 100 stick to Windows.

        • Any specific reason for switching? This does have double the ram and a Full HD display(main selling point). They are practically the same weight.

        • Gday Steve - I am switching because I need a lighter and quicker laptop for uni - my current one is 2.4kg

        • This dell is 1.36kg, the mac air of the same size is 1.35kg.

        • Absolutely brilliant mate

  • Awesome specs IMO. I'm envious but can't justify (to my miserly self) the cost. I also can't bring myself to upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Note (but that's another story).

    must resist until haswell

  • Said ends 30 May, but I just added it to cart it's still with discount. Didn't actually go through the payment stage though.

    • Might be a bit of delay, but the discount is no longer available…

  • Don't forget to upgrade your warranty to 3 or 5 years. Parts for laptops can't be replaced by generic other ones and when you buy Dell you're paying for the support anyway so you might as well extend it.

  • Does this model have a Back lit keyboard like the mbp?
