  no deal, i got a "refurbished" m17x with a 7970 (it was brand new) in March for $1099.00 :D. GST was refunded as it's a "work" computer as well.

  For $1099.00 it's definitely worth it.

  Haswell refresh for Alienware in AU is imminent. (Already happening in USA)
  So better wait. Plus you can't get discount if you upgrade some of the parts.
  The discount amount is fixed.
