Extending your ipad warranty isn't actually necessary considering statutory warranties - unless you want telephone support for the full two years

    http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/03/has-apple-quietly-exten…

    • Also reduces the cost of shipping to nil if they send out a replacement product in the mail (ie they swap the product over the phone instead of you having to go into a store)

  • what about for the other applecares? like the macbook pro+air? can you do specials on these too?

    • Hi Feeblely,

At the moment, we are only running special for the iPad Applecare.

  • Hi there,

I got an ipad 3 but it's a gift, no receipt. But checked on apple website still have 4-5 months warranty left. Is it possible to have this without the receipt?

    • +1

Yes. It asks for your the serial number of the iPad (which can be found in Settings > General > About) and the product key of the AppleCare. It then links it to your Apple ID. No store receipt required.

      • Thanks!

      • Hi TimmyShooterB,

Thanks for assisting us with the reply.

  • these apple care products dont cover the product for damage as a result of dropping the deivce. cracked screen etc or even water damage.

    Apple care is scan anyway.

The prices apple charge for their products they should last longer than the standard 12 months.

  • Does it cover if I bring my iPad overseas for good? My understanding is the 1 year warranty comes with it stays in the country you buy it from. So bad luck if your iPad breaks down while it is overseas. It is dodgy for a premium priced product does not provide international warranty.

      Hi wtfnodeal,

Please refer to Manufacturer Information below:

What does “global repair coverage” mean?
If you take your Apple hardware with you when you travel and happen to need repair service, the AppleCare Protection Plan offers global repair coverage. You can either go to an Apple Retail Store or contact Apple for information on how to obtain service. Service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested. Service options, parts availability and response time vary according to country. Please see the AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions for complete details.

For international service, Apple may repair or exchange defective products and parts with comparable products and parts that comply with local standards.

      • How about this http://www.apple.com/au/legal/statutory-warranty/ Apple may restrict the service to the country where Apple originally sold the product. I personally walked into an Apple store to confirm your 1 year limited warranty does cover your ipad if it breaks down outside Australia. Basically We are protected only by Australian consumer law to enforce the statutory warranty. Outside of Australia Apple does not give a damn about the warranty.
Edit: i wonder why some people insist au stock instead of grey imports, this is why! You need to send it back to the country you bought it from to claim your god damn warranty!

        • I like your god damn comments! LOL

Now that's a copout linking to terms and conditions. You are effectively acting as a broker and should be able to answer the question. Even if you get it wrong, you should have professional indemniity insurance the buyer could claim against. So cutting and pasting T&C is fail.
