They've really trashed the "ultrabook" definition with this :/

Not a bad price for a Toshiba of this spec but the recent Dells were much better spec'd.

was $479 not long ago. see my post.

  • If you value battery life, wait for haswell ultra books…50% increase in battery life apparently

Dunno bout 50, maybe 30, depending on configuration, but still very very significant.

    • Wouldn't that be 50% power draw improvement for the CPU/IGP? How can Haswell improve power-draw for the LCD for instance - which would be the bigger power draw surely?

    • I'm pretty sure it's going to spew out pretty decent battery improvements for the ULT models (for the ultrabooks) but it'd be pretty negligible if it were the more mainstream systems.

      http://anandtech.com/show/7047/the-haswell-ultrabook-review-…

Anandtech shows a 57.5% improvement (factoring in difference in battery from the updated S7)

      http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/13/macbook-air-review/

Engadget shows an absolutely bonkers improvement of around 70-80% (from around 7 hours to 13 hours) for the new macbook airs
