        • Very interesting. 10 years of licenses on 1 phone may be hard to justify in my case.

[While you can show multiple purchases of the same software on the invoice, only 1 copy can be shown in your phone. Would be hard to prove all copies were being taken out of the country, especially as they are multiple device licenses.
Usually people would claim commercial software, or even games - which have single user agreements. You may also be asked for packaging, copies of software & manuals (pretty well none in this case).
If they denied 1 or more, your now less than $300 purchases may no longer count. Lucky they don't have me at the airport!]

I'm not travelling until September - so bought more than limit of 60 days before leaving :(

Otherwise could have saved another 9% ($2.16) on top of the 5% ($1.20) ING rebate meaning a $93.60 profit on 10!

        • I could argue that the licenses have not been activated and the "software" is the package and the license number itself.

        • [Edited] Brilliant that way you don't have to prove it is on the phone! That could work & TRS Staff have something physical to check against the receipt.

But packaging has been opened. Seal it up (glue inside edges)! Goods can be opened & used. Removal of Cashback sticker is advised.

They may still question the multiple purchase (can you say it is gifts for friends?? Or is it just for personal use? Otherwise - be a generous traveller!!
My interpretation is that the goods are being EXPORTED (as gifts), so theoretically do not attract a GST & so can claim back under TRS).

I've never bothered with the TRS as the 9% on $300+ spend in 1 retailer a maximum of 60 days before departure (was 30 days until April) is too difficult for a frugal traveller. My total return airfare to Myanmar a few months back was less than $300.

  • Does JB Hifi deliver with Toll? Got a card in the mailbox not expecting anything so wondering if its this.

    • Yes they use toll express service. No signature required though.

    • I did too. I thought it was a DickSmith package I was waiting on.

  • Just did my cashback, Seems you need a seperate norton account for each cashback.

If anyone who bought 10 codes doesn't have the time to do this than i'm happy to give you $24 paypal for the product key, Unused and cashback valid.

    • Hi, why do you say you need seperate norton account?

      • because each code is assigned to a different account, I don't think they will allow you to active 10 years of codes on 1 account

        • I see

        • +1

I think you will find you can register them to the same account but they will run concurrently not concecutively. I registered a second Norton 360 near the end of my last licence but instead of adding a year like renewing the licence, the last days of my old licence ran concurrently with the new licence.

  • +4

Well i put them all under the same account. I didn't follow the nonsense instructions inside. Here is how you claim it quickly

1)Type product key into notepad on your computer
2)Using your COMPUTER go to the website. Create a Norton account or sign in
4)Using your Computer enter in the code, you can copy and paste this from notepad
5)Now jump onto your mobile device and enter the app store.
6)Download the app like any other app you normally download
7)Start up the app and register using the same Norton account login
8)Now go to the claim at the front of the form. Fill in the basic details
9)Copy the code from the notepad and paste in the code
10)Fill in the silly details forms
    11)Wait and profit?

    • yes, did the same, i put them all on one account.

      • How.. I dont get the option?

    • concecutively or concurrently? I got 5 for 5 devices, but if I can put 2years worth on my fav device I would.

      • as PissLUR said before, you could try chat to norton online and see if they can consolidate two keys for you to get 2 years. it seems to have worked for PissLUR

    • how many did you put under the same account?

  • Can I ask why the deal is marked as expired? Isn't it still available?

    • its $30 now.

      • +1

        Wow - that means I saved another $60 :-)

  • Got them today, will register them on the weekend. Thanks again OP. :D

BTW if you ring up Brighton JB Hifi you may be able to get them for the old price since they said they had a heap of them in a box at the back. Ask them for a bulk price for 10

  • May I ask does it come as a card or something else? I believe it won't be a box, as mobile security doesn't need CD to install. (I bought these during Queens Birthday long weekend and haven't been to the store to pick up yet.)

    • Mine came as a card in a letter in the mail

      • Thanks for letting me know :)

  • Looks like you only need one for all your devices and you cant register more than one with your account. Also looks like Ill have to return four copies to JB. Others say they can but mine simply wont give me the option. Really dont want to make new emails just to make 6 bucks a pop.

    • what option are you looking for? just hit the register link and verify your serial number. Thats all.

Its not visible to us. but its registered to your account.

A single license is only good for a single device at any one time.

      • in the licences column in my account page it lists norton 360 as 3 user and mobile security as "Household". It also gives no option to add more codes. The product simply isnt listed in the renew product list.

        • I'm happy to pay $24 paypal gift, (no fees) each code you have

        • +1

I am not sure which page you are talking about. but this is the only page that I use to register.
          https://mobilesecurity.norton.com/en/Product/Dashboard

        • Thanks, got it. I was logging in using the normal page.

        • I'm a bit confused now.
How can you know if the code has been registered?
Can you see how many code have been registered under your account?

        • +2

Google norton account :) and then should be the first link where you can log in and see all the keys under your account

        • Awesome, I'm able to see it. Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea how it works but I bought 10 of them…..

  • I registered a Norton Account and only verified ONE product key so far.
But I downloaded the app on both my phone and iPad, I log into my Norton Account, I'm able to see both devices with '366 days remaining'.
Does this mean ONE product key can be used on multiple products as long as under the same Norton Account?

    • On my account one key was listed as "Household" for this product but my Norton 360 was listed as "3 devices". So I suppose it can support as many devices as you own.

    • 1 product key is for 1 device only.

      • I'm still not quite sure how it works.

  • Hi guys, anyone got "Only one entry per IP address per day is allowed" when registered for the claim?
I did 4 today, when I registered for the 5th, got this in the confirmation page.

UPdate: Was able to register the 5th claim via 3G on my phone - different IP address I guess.

  • +1

Norton said for me to do this:

    1. Go to https://mobilesecurity.norton.com/
    2. Login
    3. Click register in the top right hand corner
    4. Register the 10 packs
    5. They will call me back later and stack all the days for 10 years of mobile security (LMAO if they phase the software out since there are so many free alternatives.)
    6. Fill in cashback
    7. Hopefully profit within our lifetime. (They take a few weeks to send cheques)
    • +1

They made a mistake, it can't be stacked or it voids the cashback as you need 10 different cd keys. (I thought that initially) Anyway they separated all my keys and said I need to delete the cache from the app in my settings and login 10 times to activate all the keys.

      • Thanks for the info.

      • do you have to create 10 norton accounts and register 1 product key for each account?

If not, how can you be sure that you have activated all 10 keys?

        • +1

machej, you have only activated two of the keys. You will need to activate all ten of them before you can claim cashback for each of them. To do this, you will need to clear app cache and then re-register the same device over and over until all have been activated. Once you have done activating and claiming the cashback, get in touch with customer support over chat and they will stack them up for you. I have just confirmed all of this on chat. Also the licence is valid on multiple devices, so it's a win-win.

Pardon me, if you already knew this. Just though it might help if I make it clear.

        • Yep, thanks I took the screenshot before doing that but I activated it twice on one phone. I will only stack them after they have paid me, it could get dangerous otherwise. :P

  • Is everyone getting the same claim numbers?

    • yes, I registered all under 1 norton account and claimed using the same account. and
just realised that the the claim reference number is the same for all 4 claims.

    • No. All my six claim numbers are different.
I registered them all under one Norton account and registered claim to the same email address as well.

  • It appears that I can only activate 2 with one phone. It looks like the phone remembers the IMEI and keeps using the same license.

    • Thats what I thought you see.. You cant choose to use the unused product key.

      • Did you manage to activate them on one device?

        • I made a mess with the registration of the product keys.

what i am planning to do is to create multiple norton account and register 1 license for each account.

Then I can activate all product keys using 1 device by just logging in using the different norton accounts.

however, at the claims process, I will be using a single norton id.

        • I've got all my product keys on one account so I need to login to different phones. :/

        • I am now chatting with norton agent.

XXX: no PissLUR, the cashback is registered corresponding to your device's mac address, and for each and every device it is diffferent. so in a device, when you install norton, your mac address will be registered, and you will not able to apply for cashback again for the same device.

XXX: because, with the norton mobile security, first you register and activate the product, then you add your device to it, unlike with the software in computers.

I am now convinced that we need multiple devices
          10 product keys = 10 devices.

        • Any luck?

        • But T&C state:

To claim the Offer online from Symantec, the claimant must first install and activate their purchased Norton Mobile Security for Tablets v.3.2 product with Symantec after 6:30am AEDT on March 18, 2013 and before 11:59pm AWST July 31, 2013 to enable automatic validation of their claim.

so basically you just need to install it and activate within that time period. it doesn't say anything about adding devices. each product key needs to be activated first and then only you can claim.

  • How do we delete the app cache? What folder is it in?

I've accidentally used the same product code on 2 devices and now even though I've uninstalled one to try and and use a new code it won't install properly - both devices still have the same serial number when you click on "365 days left".

    • Settings > Applications > Norton > Delete cache. Not sure if it helps

    • I'd say use your Norton Account log into https://mobilesecurity.norton.com/en/Product/Dashboard
You can see your devices under 'Choose a Device to Manage'
You can "Delete" it before activating any new product key on the same device.
I use this way to active different product keys without any problem and got the most recent serial number on my phone.

      • Hmm, I tried that, for some reason it only worked twice. On the third time it didn't.

        • Interesting…
I active Six codes so far:
          - Twice on my galaxy note - latest serial number.
          - Three times on the iPad - latest serial number.
          - Once on my hubby's galaxy note.

          Still Four to go.

        • Very strange system, maybe it's worth doing it once a day.

        • I activated 2 codes and claimed 1 cashback yesterday.
I activated 4 codes and claimed 5 cashback today.

I claimed cashback right after I activated each code. 6 done so far.

I was pretty nervous when "Only one entry per IP address per day is allowed" popped up on the confirmation page.

  • Hmm, well in any case if you don't sort it out in 50 or so days you can always get a full refund. I have 2 active so far and i'll probably activate 2/3 more and get a refund on the rest.

    • I have opened all accounts already, can I still get refund if I failed to activate them all?
If so, do you know how to?

  • +1

I have activated 5 without any problems, all in one device. I cleared cache and deleted the device in Norton before every activation (not sure if needed tho). Now wait.

    • +2

Agree! I was able to active all 10 between 3 devices. I deleted device in Noron website then clear data/cache or deleted the app before every activation as well.
Made 10 claim and got 10 emails with 10 different confirmation numbers.

      • Same. I didn't even clear cache!

      • What sort of devices are these? Tablets with no IMEI?

        • 3 on Samsung Galaxy Note White 16Gb, 3 on Samsung Galaxy Note Black 16Gb, 4 on Apple iPad2 Black 16Gb 3G+WIFI

        • I might try on a galaxy tab. Thanks. Currently I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I used.

  • anyone received cashback yet?

    • Nope, trend micro is usually much faster. Norton takes a few weeks.

  • +1

Still no cheque :( How am I supposed to feed my wife and kids this week?

  • Any cashback yet?

    • +1

      still nothing for me

    • +1

nothing as yet. They are always less organised than Trend Micro.

      • Have you received cash back from them before?

        • +1

Yes, for a desktop norton though.

  • got two cheques :), still waiting on two more

    • They took their time but there is light at the end of the tunnel at least.

    • good to hear that.. still waiting for 10.. lol.

    • hi, did you activate them all on one device? and when did you do claim?

      • all in one, June 14th

        • Wow that's great. I claimed on 11th but still no cheques :(

  • Received 6 out of 10 cash back cheques yesterday.
The received cheques were claimed on 13 and 14 of June.
The rest were claimed on 15 June and yet to be received.

    • All installed on same device?

      • 10 licenses between 3 devices.

        • hi eleana, did you use different email address for each serial number?

        • Hi Bargainboi, I activated all 10 licenses in one email address.

  • hm… activated 2 on the 7/6 and yet to received my cheque =(

  • Got 2 cheques today. It costs them per envelope/stamp how stupid, they should send it in a bundle.

  • Finally got all my cheques today!

    • +3

This is a good deal. Managed to get gst back last week for all 10 purchases. Showed the license packs. Officer didnt even count them. Lol.

The bad thing about this deal is there was pricing error that jb hifi had when they launched the 50% off for norton 360. Lol. Too bad. Used up all 10 already.

      • OH NO.. i went to the states, and forgot to take them with me :(… oh well still made 180 bucks profit haha claimed 10 each in our family

        • inb4 Symantec shares crash.

      • Does it matter if the packages were open? I opened all 10 already….. And will go to HongKong in 2 weeks.

        • +1

Its fine. Shouldnt be any problem.

        • Thanks :)

          — How is everyone's cash back going? Have you guys received all the cash back cheques? I only received 6 out of 10 so far.
