Yes. I bought an Optus Prepaid phone a while ago and it works with Live Connected,
Vaya also.
And falls under that magical $300 tax write it off in one year threshold.

You do not need receipts if your work-related expenses are $300 or less, but you must be able to show the deduction relates to your income and how you calculated the amount you claimed.
Not sure why this is being compared to a S3/4 as the specs are closer to an S2
It's 4G
i think he meant S3/4g …. personally i wouldn't touch LG phone product
I felt the same way about LG…until I got the LG Optimus G. Its a damn nice phone for the price…yeah updates are slow but there's plenty of custom ROMs out there.
I thought the same thing until the Nexus 4. Pretty much an amazing phone at a low price.
Last i knew S2 was 3G phone not 4G when publically available. S2 3G is now prepaid for $299 on vodaphone.
Its personal choice and money in your pocket but I wonder why would someone pay $200-$400 extra for 1 GB more RAM, quad core processor or 8/13 MP camera when you can hardly notice the speed or camera pics quality for S3/S4 on practical day to day usage with latest ICS or whatever android OS.
there is a S2 4G —> http://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/samsung/4g-galaxy-s-ii-sku-8…
This is actually unlocked, although its Optus branded.
it said so on the Optus June brochure. this and the xperia go (for $199).Yes but it only has 900+2100 for 3G which will really limit your reception with Telstra
Thats basically No 3G reception with Telstra as Telstra does not use either band (except for 2100 in rural areas). You will be stuck with GPRS/EDGE with a Telstra SIM.
What is 3G HSPA?
3G HSPA is a third generation mobile technology capable of delivering faster download and upload speeds compared to earlier 3G and 2G technologies.
3G HSPA is deployed in various speed versions, including 3G HSPA+ and 3G HSPA+ Dual Channel which are faster than 3G HSPA. Telstra offers all these 3G HSPA speed versions across an area unmatched by any other mobile network in Australia. This means you will be able to access faster 3G speeds in more places across Australia.
Telstra provides 3G HSPA services in the 850MHz frequency band across our entire mobile network. This is supported by 3G HSPA in the 2100MHz band in selected high traffic areas to boost capacity.
To fully enjoy the superior benefits of 3G HSPA on the Telstra Mobile Network it is important your device is capable of operating in the 850MHz and 2100MHz frequency bands.
Enjoy faster speeds in more places
The Telstra Mobile Network has the largest 3G HSPA+ Dual Channel enabled coverage with typical download speeds of 1.1 to 20Mbps across 80 per cent of the Australian population. Telstra also has the largest 3G HSPA+ coverage with typical download speeds of 550kbps to 8Mbps available across 97 per cent of the population. In remaining 3G coverage areas typical download speeds are 550kbps to 3Mbps.
Typical 3G customer upload speeds are 300kbps – 3Mbps in all capital cities and major regional areas covering more than 93 per cent of the population and 300kbps – 1Mbps in other coverage areas.
Telstra 3G and 4G operating seamlessly together
Telstra 3G and 4G technologies operate seamlessly together on the Telstra Mobile Network. This means that Telstra 4G customers will automatically switch over to our fastest available 3G speeds in areas where 4G is not available.
Do you know if it will work on any carrier who uses Optus network like TPG?
