In addition, a US Microsoft Store account (just make a new one) is required for purchase of the code, but is not necessary for redemption.

These codes are coupon codes for the Microsoft Store, and not game redeem codes.

EDIT 2: As per donga100, these codes were from the Xbox One Signup promotion here. However codes appear to be multiple use. If they don't work, try using your own code if you have them.

      for example:

      I didnt use a VPN

      Created a new account with REAL US OR address

      could not get my credit card to be accepted, so used paypal

      did not change my paypal address to US but my account billing address was US (this is the only thing i think i may of done wrong to cause cancelation)

      then ordered 5 codes in a row with the same promo code (it was cached or something because i didnt even need to add it when I added new items to my cart)

      10 min later canceled

      lets compare this to see if theres anything else we could do, seems other forums are reporting it still works so, it could just be because of our location.

      Yes they do, I just had 200 points expire on me the other day, the day before I was going to buy something

        Purchased points do not expire. Points from promotions (Xbox Live Rewards, etc) expire 1 year after being awarded them.

    going to get another 2 or 3 purchases :)))

    How i got it to work

    Signed into MS store with my AU account and added an US postal address, Added the same US address to my Paypal for shipping

    processed ordered, waited about an hour and it worked

  • I put in 2 orders yesterday. 1 with a code from this post, and 1 with a unique code I got (before it was brodened).

    The 1 with the unique code I got has been cancelled, but the other 1 went through. Yet to receive any thing though.

    Those who've had theirs cancelled, get yourself a new code using the XBOX ONE notification promotion noted earlier. Don't re-use the codes mentioned in here to avoid disappointment.

  • Okay registered another MS account to a residential address in New Hampshire, paid with CC and code just came through :)

  • Tried a few of the codes and they are invalid. Also you have to call to remove your CC details, that sucks.

    I waited a while and tried pressing confirm again and it went through.
    nothing yet from microsoft store but paypal email for $14.99. I know I put the code in and it worked but what happened?

    My code worked just fine for me in Xbox account. Or do you mean the store code?

  • tried to do it but whenever it applies the promo code and discounts the MS points to $4.99, it asks me to sign into microsoft account, i sign in with account with american address, and it sends me to checkout but without the promo code applied. Help anyone?

  • What would be the process if you paid via debit/credit card and don't receive the code? Is there an avenue to put in a claim?

    • If you've paid via Mastercard or Visa I would personally leave it 3 days to see if they process your refund of their own accord, if not give them a call.
      If you can't resolve it after say ten days contact your bank to initiate a charge back.

          E-mail confirmation: no.
          Order history in MS account: no.
          Delivered purchase: no.

          Correct me if I'm wrong but Microsoft are a pretty big company which have, more or less, been creating software since the beginnings of computers.

          I would've thought operating an e-store is childs play.

          As scytherbladez implied, the order process is very odd. Unlike any I've dealt with before. Being Microsoft, you'd think it'd be much more clear what's going on.

        • One of my 3 purchases went through and there was no email confirmation pre point arrival and no order history so it looks like several of the steps aren't necessary.

  • I used my own code I got on 25may and paid PayPal, no confirmation or cancellation, called MS they said order didn't go through, so I filed case with PayPal today.

    today I tried again using other people code, same thing pay via PayPal and just in 10 mins I got confirmation from MS with code!

    so, now my account is USA. If I redeem the points now, and in 3 months time I change my region back to AU, will I still have the point???

    • Standard procedure, applies to both seller and buyer.

      If one party doesn't respond within the time frame, the case automatically goes against the non-respondant.

    • Yes, if you change your account from US to AU your points will go with you. You can only change from region to region with your account once every 3 or 6 months.

      I did this with my US account. Added lots of points and went to buy some GoD and they would not let me buy them due to the region I was in even though had US account so I swapped back over.

  • I ordered a code yesterday and got an email within an hour with the code which I paid via Papal. This morning I ordered another one but paid via CC, been few hours and no code. I will wait until end of the week then I will talk to the bank.

    • Ordered 1 a few days ago with paypal and they cancelled the purchase and locked the MS account I used to do that.
      Yesterday registered another account, made 2 purchases with Mastercard received first purchase but the second one never materialized, today I ordered again and the code just came through :)

      So I'd suggest trying again with another account and Master or Visa.

      • Ok, the one I just made came straight through. I can't cancel the four I made 2 days ago, I can't even contact support about it because they're not in my order history.

        • Did you pay with CC or Paypal?
          If it was Paypal you could try contacting them with the transaction ID.
          If it's CC it most likely hasn't even cleared yet.

      • I can not add my mastercard, I have spoken to support it is because apprently I have an australian billing address, how were you able to use your creditcard? I cant add paypal either I get an error message, so I cant make purchases :(

        • I just gave a US address for my billing address. Just look one up on google maps.
          I think you should try with a fresh account.

        • Thanks for the responce but I get an error when I try add it with a US address, and after speaking with support they said when they check it with the credit card company to charge me, they will bounce the order and cancel it because the 2 addresses don't match up.. but I'll try work something out thanks anyway.

  • well I ordered 6 lots using several codes. They all went through Paypal, all got deducted from my bank account just this morning but so far have only received 2 of the codes. Await the last four now I guess, 24 hours after the first lot were delivered… Very odd.

    Just letting everyone know the bad news, the deal is dead :(

    Good Luck to the people who managed to at least get an order to process, 3 days of trying hard staying up till 5 A.M and not a single code or pending transaction :(

    Microsoft have finally killed the codes, there is a rumor going around that if a code was never used it will still work, so if anyone has any spare they no longer need due to getting their fair share, a PM with what ever you have would be appreciated :)

    Alot of people blame a guy who goes by Dirkmandoo for being what we would call broden he posted a transcript of himself directly communicating with Microsoft staff bragging about his purchases. I copied bellow for anyone interested.

    Realistically the main reason this probably died now is because it was a long weekend in the U.S and staff were probably back at the office this morning their time to discover the issue.
